    You're talking about Artist Version. It's different if author speaks of pro version. But sounds like he/she doesn't know about it.

    As @hani king mentioned, it is version 3 ARTIST so we are not even talking the old top of the line version 3. Indeed, for a limited time Studio One 4 Professional came bundled up with Presonus' top of the line console, the Studio Live 64S. However, that is no longer the case. Now Studio Live 64 S comes with the Artist version of Studio One 5.

    Strange, I started with version 2 when I bought my audiobox, and have never paid for updates. Presonus universal driver checks for updates whenever I open it and just lets me have them.

    I never heard of such thing. As far as I know, Universal Control does not update Studio One. It updates device drivers and firmware but not Studio One. Indeed, you can have a non legit Studio One connected to the Presonus hardware and when Universal Control connects to Presonus servers Studio One is not even detected.

    That is my situation exactly :). I was a bit worried when i was first running my AudioBox USB and installed a ... 'custom' Studio One.
    But never a problem and now with a StudioLive AR8 added things are still fine.

    Sorry. I meant when I open Studio One it checks for updates. Had my apps confused. Happens to us old farts....
