FAb is most certainly Fab. They sound fantastic and are so powerful.
Much like most people use 10% (generously) of the potential of their iPhone, yet they always have the top model. Most stock plugs in Daws nowadays are insanely powerful, especially Studio One. Many don't explore the potential of standard tools above applying presets to presets. Arguably You don't need much beyond Studio One, Logic, Bitwig, or Reaper straight outa the box to do a high-quality record.
I must agree with Fab Filter though.

depending on the Fabfilter bundle, Twin2 is not an fx but it's really nice.

A lot of people spend more time collecting plugins, than actually making music

Does that mean you deny the effect various saturation plugins have on the sound you process?

They're for me the best plugins for their tasks, the thing is that I like experimenting with other plugins and I get bored using only Fabfilter, what I think can substitute Fabfilter is TDR stuff

Exactly this... Almost all emulations are only hype, its the same for the Amp simulators, "this one its the most analog sound one" or i laugh when people say "this one sounds more 3D" haha. Such dumb comments.

Like i said, the stock plugs from Reaper are almost everything one needs, everything else its just pretty UI desing with the same function.

Interesting, i will give it a try.

Sad but true, and i fell under that hole some years ago, until i realized its all marketing bs.

Depends what you mean with saturation, basically, real analog saturation is not possible in the digital realm since once you are working with plugins, that means you are working with "1s" and "0s".

Haha very nice comparison with the phones, certainly i never fell into the marketing of phones either, its the same shit, with more processing power, unless you use it for really heavy stuff, most people, like you said, only use 10% of the phone.

Its the same with plugins, i do agree that with stock plugs you have everything, but Fabfilter and their intelligent UI design makes it more easier to do.

    Preach, brother.
As a Bitwig user, I gotta say Bitwig EQ+ has the best UI I've come across in stock plugins. I still use Pro-Q 3 as my go-to eq, mainly because I'm in love with the dynamic eq bands (and because I've spent so much time with FF plugins it's second nature by now) but EQ+ rivals any other plugin in the UI department (it also sounds excellent, and that's what matters, but after sound and usability, UI is important to me).

I'd agree, one bundle is usually enough, probably why cracked Waves was so popular back then ^^

But tbf, that's not my personal workflow.
I like the fact that there are hardwared modelled plugins that are genuinely fun to work with because their strengths and weaknesses are different and it wasn't actually that hard for me to find a handful of plugins whose strengths complement each other, who knows maybe that's the next thing you'll discover :)
