Couple of days I analize DP8. For sure is complete and quality DAW but it's not like other traditional daws and that's the big problem.

The whole concept and idea of DP is great, and mainly for writing complex orchestral stuff, there is a lot midi dedicated options which I've not seen in any other daw.

But I don't like midi representation in sequence view and editing, it's realy compicated. In midi editor when you want to change velocity it's so tiny so you must 6 times try to grab that tiny lines :) and basicaly complete GUI on windows machine is made with strange font and it's tiny.

Mixer is so small, just we need a super-precise-laser mouse to grab the send fader and change send volume :)

There is a lot of things that I don't like... there is a lot of thing's I like, but much more is the first ones.

This was a test on WIN machine, maybe on MAC sitation is completely different, I don't know - I'm not gonna install DP on my mac because I need this on my win machine.

Performance is well the same like on other daws...

I didn't look at stock plugins and instruments.

For some time concept look like Pro Tools.

Tonight, one strange thing happen :)

I install Samplitude X suite again and I setup main parameters, set vst folder etc...

Now I'm not in problems like before with buffers etc... strangely but now works ok... it's very fast. Also I notice that I'm not having CodeMeter like before in systray...

I'm just curious what was before :dunno:. It's possible that I create mess with installing Sequoia, then Samplitude. CodeMeter comes with Sequoia.

    It's surprisely fast now.

Regarding Samp/Sequoia. Having recently abandoned Pro Tools for good, I too have been on the new DAW quest. I thought S1 was going to be it, and it is a great DAW. I decided to give Samplitude another look and I'm glad I did. While at first glance it seems to be an overwhelming mess, the screen can be cleaned up to be more manageable. While no DAW is perfect, I have yet to find something that this DAW can't do. Maybe it's just that my needs are not that complex, but for me it seems to be "the one". Give it a try...

Yes, now I found that I create mess with Sequoia and code meter... after cleaning up system of sequoia, Samplitude x64 with last update work just "perfectly". It's realy great to open application normal (instantly) without any waiting (like other daw do).
I don't like many things, but it is how it is... Only problem is there is no many videos about using Samplitude (some channels on youtube kraznet). There is a planty of options, some known some mistery, but I found PDF manual is great too. It's hard to find good DAW PDF manual these days :)
    It's great x64 DAW app.
