You grow old to appreciate waves plug ins. They are the best, talk less of compatability from day one till date.

Cheers quadcore64, Impressive results and it is one that I'm going to demo when I can do, If it has a flavor/color (colour as it's spelt here) that I haven't got ITB then I'm likely to pick it up.
Regarding expensive outboard, The nicest mic/line pre-amplifier which I think out of what I have is a 1073. I don't mind running stuff out and through it if it is beneficial to what I've captured with the Focusrite ISA and Audient mic preamps which I use as really clean as possible. Then I have other options such as the Universal Audio Twin Finity that is really a decent, very flexible design from pristine to overdriven valve plus a mix anywhere between those two.
I would really like to upgrade the Arsenal Audio/ADK by API R20 mic preamps I have for the API 512C when I can do as I really like the results I've had and works as an equally solid but different flavor to the Neve stalwart. I've just not got the shekels laying around to do that for now and it isn't like I'm really stuck for options, Just to bolster things up/upgrade when I can do so as I put in majority of what I make.
I'm also first and foremost a guitarist, I'm a filthy whore for both DIY and factory built or some factory and some hand wiring pedals wise, Mostly drives to high-gain distortion boxes which many can function as pre-amplifier's in their own right and the guitars, amp heads, cabs, combos and bass stuff I get a little too focused on/carried away. Most recent was one of only two fuzz boxes I actually like for my own tastes which is the Electro-Harmonix op-amp based big muff reissue, I was really stoked that they teamed up with Corgan for it, One of those into any SLP or JCM800 gets one into that thick fuzz but with definition and not the woolly sort of stuff the diodes bases types deliver, The other fuzz I love is the Boss FZ-2 hyper fuzz which is just pure evil, Think of like dopethrone-era Electric Wizard for what I'm trying to describe :)

It's getting better and better though for gear that sounds great for far less money than it once would of cost, Warm Audio are a fine example of that and I'm also a long time fan of Really Nice Audio, The mic pre and the compressor and the levelling amplifier I've found to be money well spent and it is almost impossible to get a crummy result out the other end so long as they are fed healthy, optimized source signal.

Catch you soon and again thanks for the info of how you are finding the plugs both sound and CPU load wise. Best your way and to all as always

Cool! A MXR pedals that I used long ago were the Micro Amp and the Distortion + ...
The Micro Amp works great for a boost when soloing and/or driving a tude amp for a solid overdriven tone.

Also used the ProCo Ratt for a while. Kind of a supercharged Dist+ ...

When I was younger, I would gang tubes amps by 2 or 3 at a time. Can get get very loud, but what a sound.
Very similar to a 100W vintage Hiwatt.

Trying hard to get an ITB sound that can sit alongside a hybrid sound. Getting close by trying lots of plugins.
There is a lot of not so worthy software out there.

After spending 2 decades ITB and previous 2 decades OTB, I've come to the conclusion that both have its advantages and drawbacks. I can't really favour one or the other. For me a studio is complete only with both options.

@quadcore64 nice demo on this one.. couldn't help noticing Reaper's total cpu load was about half that of Pro Tools...?

you do a lot of re-amping as well ?

I like listening to mr scheps's overview on his plugins, I always feel that he has put a lot of thought into what is created under his name and the last few plugins have both had that extra something to other plugins that makes you think ' yeah this is pretty sweet' aswell as functional. I will most likely purchase his channel strip in a week or two.

Reaper has very good cpu usage compared to most DAWs for now. At some point this may change a little to a lot depending upon future development & features.

I personally try to capture the best tone & work with that. Re-amping is an option when I get tracks that were recorded elsewhere and need help. There is also the situation when a player of any instrument refuses to make or allow adjustments (drummer who will not allow retuning and such to a kit).

Does anyone have issue with insert slot inside omni channel plugin.
I can only add omni modules as insert plugins, instead of any Waves plugin.
And other thing, external side chain on compressor is disabled for me and can't be turned on !??

Curious what version of waves complete you downloaded for everything to work.
I haven't updated in a year or so, since everything runs so smoothly.
This plug-in may have changed my mind.
    Thanks

Using most current version 9.92 & latest VR patch.

Only have C1 series & Omni Channel installed from custom offline installer using Waves Central.

Mostly use Acustica Audio plugins but I do like this channel strip.

  15. It's a sort of McSlateotope Ozotubeizer. It's a channel strip. With things in it. The insert points just move your external insert channel inside the plugin, and limits you to using Waves only plugins. It's the same old same old. It's probably very good. But it's the same old same old.

Today it's woot woot. Tomorrow it's woot. Three weeks from now it's meh, and then it's what it is. It's the same old same old.

    Enjoy.
