Hey peeps just had a near fuck up of my projects whilst transferring them to another drive, manages to recover most recent ones, but lost quite a few from more than 6 months ago (although they are out there on the internet so im not too bothered).

My question is what kind of software you guys use to autobackup your projects to another drive and if there are any intelligent ones that can update on a file by file basis, and one where you can choose to make new versions where the same name exists e.g. if i have "Track 1" and chose to make the file unique, when i save the file again it will make a "Track_1 Version_1" or something along the likes of that.
    Cheers in advance.

    P.S back yo shit up!

I don't understand your needs very well, I use CCC on osx and all is ok... but why changing name of tracks? Projects won't recognize them anymore :dunno:

Just so when i backup my projects i dont want the file to be overwritten and instead auto incremented somehow so i have multiple backups to refer too. I want that backup to be scheduled every day/week if possible

Very busy but I see you haven't gotten any recommendations so I would suggest Acronis True Image Home 2015.

Using CarbonCopyCloner on OSX and Acronis on PC. Both do the job and just run according to the schedule you set.

Normally by default they will do a full backup, then any changes you make since the last full backup will be saved to an incremental backup.
So each night they are very fast as only a small amount of data has changed, but the weekly backup takes longer so schedule it as an overnight job (or watch a dvd).

    My favorite is R-drive Image:

    http://www.drive-image.com/

It does full backup, incremental backup, differential backup and lets you create a boot disk. Easy to use.

Acronis True Image Home +1 and a usb stick always pluged in-to your pc /mac to copy your Projects onto it at the end of every session.

cubase has an autosave functionality built in that names the saved files with increasing numbers.

but that's not what you call a backup.
