Hi,

need to connect my own speakers to my Tv. But like mobiles tvs no longer have analog outputs these days

so only choice to get audio out is using the optical out to a small toslink/analog box, it works but you loose the the volume control via the remote, it’s a fixed output volume

They want you to use their f#¤ SoundBars via HDMI, then you regain the internal volume control with the tvs remote.


So I was thinking that any cheap box like below with a HDMI input could maybe work to "fool" the tv and regain volume control. should work right?

Anyone used any of these?
