Do I have to reply in english?

I recently upgraded to an internal 1TB EVO .. leaves my 7200 rpm external in the dust..

Same here, I was sceptical about their reliability but then I tried one of the Samsung ones and now I don't want to go back.

A year ago I got a 240G for OS & 500 G for studio projects & certain daw libraries that are slow to load, but I only have a little on there yet.
Most of my Daw libraries are on a 3T 7200.
I see the prices now & I can almost get a 1T SSD for what the 500G SSD cost me last year. I bought a little early, price-wise.
I saw what wasgedn said about RARing... but I have almost 3T of DAW stuff so all that is on a 5T 7200.
Wow. I just realized i have used 4T of the 5T
When prices are such that I can afford it... I'd like to have nothing but SSD really.
Fast, quiet, lightweight and a bit cooler too :)

Samsung is one of the best, top speed and live longer, see
    https://audiosex.pro/threads/optimal-disk-setup-for-audio-workstation.39983/page-2#post-345824

This controller is for motherboards that do not have M.2 ports, it may have some speed advantage over SATA, but
it will not have the performance/features of NVMe as it is controlled by SATA and not a NVMe controller.

in simple words, PCIe (NVME) is connection "protocol", M.2 is physical connector

PCIe/NVME connection offers higher bandwidth than regular SATAIII, so the SSDs can be faster,
regular SATAIII SSD can reach up to 550MB/s read/write, write speed only when properly cached, else speed drops to 1/10 (ridiculous, yea),
NVME SSD drives can go over 3000MB/s read/write, but in daily workloads I'd say it's overrrated and useless - actually if I would consider buying NVME drive, I'd use if for projects (video particularly) and use only regular SATAIII SSD for operating system and programs

major advantage of PCIe/NVME SSDs is for servers and datacenters, because the connection is more "direct" than SATAIII and therefore those drives are able to handle more operations simultaneously and at lower latency - that is fairly useless for desktop workstation of one person of course

yes, the true advantage of pcie ssd is can gives you larger space in your pc box, if you have a 3 fans graphic card you can got that
