SampleTekk has announced the release of STFM Keys – EP1, a deep sampled electric piano library.

When sampling an acoustic piano, using multiple velocity layers is standard. In a modern sampled
acoustic piano you probably would expect at least 16 velocity layers. In the FM EP’s there’s a lot
going on in the modulation between the different sources and also filters that changes, and that
makes these EP’s very expressive and unique sounding.

Sampled synthesizer sounds are often done with one or a couple velocities, but I really, really
think that the FM EP’s should be considered proper instruments in their own right. So, that is
exactly what we have done. This deep sampled FM EP has all notes sampled in 22 velocity levels.
This captures all the nuances of the complex sound structure of the instrument.
