Just wondering if you can/is it safe to update different V.R. or R2R releases via the company's website. For instance, any time I load Melodyne in my DAW, it will redirect me to Celemony's website saying there is an update available. Since I'm getting random CPU spikes that cause errors when I use Melodyne, I'd love to update it, but for obvious reasons I'm hesitant. Any suggestions or success stories would be great.

Specifically for Melodyne: NO! Updating from website will break it and may cause other havoc.

If you use plugins you bought, then yes - updating from developer's website is ok of course.

If you use cracked ones, you should wait new release(s) from the scene.

I think in the melodyne settings you can uncheck the option "check for updates." but apparently I'm wrong?

No, you are correct. I literally just did it myself. I'm surprised I hadn't yet. Speaking of which, if you are using cracks you and you don't understand that all cracks should be told, not update themselves. Then you shouldn't be using warez, you are not smart enough.

you werent born with that knowledge, neither was anybody else.
i am happy to help people who know less than me without judgement. what are places like this worth if that is not the community spirit?
i am no wrz expert, but i will do my best. there are things OP knows about that you know nothing about, maybe OP can help you with some of that one day? maybe OP will provide a much needed kidney for you one day?
