    win 10 - 21H1
    S1 - 5.4.1.66992 (latest R2R)

it used to work in the past but i'm not sure when it stopped working here.
it i go into task manager i can see the S1 process in there and it's using 13% CPU but no GUI anywhere.
so looks like it's trying to launch but nothing seems to happen.

can someone on Win 10 21H1 please try launching S1 in win 7 or 8 compatibility mode?
just see if it starts, no need to do anything in there.
also, Any WIndows 10 or 11 vers with this current S1 release would be good to know.

just trying to work out if the problem is at my end.

background story - Acces Virus VST plugin (Virus Control) looks to be a rogue plugin these days causing S1 to crash when poking around in the Virus Control gui or when CTRL+S saving.. auto save also causes it to crash.. usually once every 5 - 10 saves.

i just want to see it compatibility mode helps the aging virus software out or not.

    thanks.

Win 7 compatibilty mode doesnt work anymore.
They removed Win 7 support a while ago dude.

    sorry man.

Studio One 5 only supports Win 10 and later, so that may be why its not working with compatibility mode.

I wonder if your crashes are from the recently added "Plugin Napping" feature.

ok thanks guys, i appreciate it.
re the crashes, they've going on since a couple of updates ago so related to napping which i've had off anyway..
i really think it's the Virus itself tbh.. hasn't been updated for about 4 yrs.
I will have to play around a bit with it in different DAW's to see if the problem follows over.

Why are you running it in compatibility mode when it runs perfectly in win 10?
I disabled auto napping feature, but do use it manually on some resource hogging VSTs when they're not in use.
