ok.
i have a gripe and as simple as i can put it,
when i have an instance of sample one open with let's say, a drum loop each slice mapped etc.
is there any way that i can highlight the slices when playing my keyboard? at the moment it's unnecessarily long winded to have to zoom in on each slice and zoom out again, then select another slice and move around especially as the zoom function in the sample one editor window is really fiddly to use at is ( or is that just me being boneheaded?). there is not indicator in sample one of what you are playing or selecting in real time and that makes it an incredible pain to use.. i do a lot of slicing and it would be great to find a better method.
just wondered if anyone knows a solution or workaround?

Man, Sample One isn't good at all. You already know that. I use it only for bass single note re-synthesized and pitch's automations (EDM). For everything else i use Izotope Iris ( it's really a Big sampler).
If you are using drum sample why you don't use Impact. It has got multi-out channels and is more intuitive than Sample One. Just my thoughts

 

i know it's not very good. the only reason i used it at all was to drag regions into it, and thought it would be ok, but frill free ( like say Poise).. but it's not the end of the world. i am sure the developer will look into it for the next release...
i just have this ridiculous notion that, one day, i don't have to go outside of the daw to other apps.
out of all i have used thus far ( and i have tried lots) presonus still has the most promise and , except for a few niggles, the workflow suits me fine...
maybe i will go and get geist and use that for all my beats 'n' that : )

 

Yeah, Geist is either, i used it when i was working on FL 2-3 years ago. Worth it.
Presonus developer aren't working hard on S1 because they say that Presonus is a mixer solution company. From December 2012 0 major updates maybe version 3 will come in 2015, but who knows...

@mykal i was refering to major updates, they made only few tweapks and make s1 more unstable. I can't use version 2.6.2 crash all the time. Never had this problem with 2.5.0
