Is anyone else having more crashes with this version than usual?

before, I could go weeks without a crash, now I seem to get at least one a day

I should draw back my word. This update seemed stable at first look, but I found it's pretty buggy!!
    We need 5.4.x R2R version!

The ability to work in realtime to any clock rate whether word time, SMPTE, MTC is critical. Most DAW's that are good do this. PPQN most DAW's if not all have similar adjustment facilities.
Logic (Originally EMAGIC Notator), Cubase and ProTools have been used in mission-critical film, documentary, trailer and jingle scenarios for 30 years successfully where clock matching is crucial.

The fact that newer DAW's e.g. Reaper, Ableton, Studio One and others can now do this is great. I still see no point in comparing any of them to be honest. Each person will choose the one that suits their workflow and navigation purposes the best, with the features that fulfil their work needs. They all do much the same thing and if one does something new, within 12 months almost all of the others will too. Studio One 5.4 I tested out and it is really well streamlined for workflow. I can see what so many people like about it, even though it's not my DAW of choice.

It is nowhere near reaper. If you use acustica plugins, test it in reaper vs studio one. Studio One has a long way to go interms of optimisation.

I'll take S1's slightly worse performance over having to use Reaper any longer.
