    I'm macOS, running Parallels for W7 x86, and I just installed Windows 10 All In One 20H2 (19042.488) X64.
Been doing the audio thing on Mac for about 20 years now, but I am sooo lost with W10.
This is very humbling. I know nothing!

Please can someone start me off in the right direction to troubleshoot this?
I installed the recent R2r release of RX8. Meter Tap wanted to install itself in the x86 folder, seemed strange if it's 64bit.
Also, on inspection of the modules in the Steinberg (?) plugin folder, I don't see Music Rebalance plugin.
Wondering if I let the installer put everything in the wrong place?
These are the alerts I got when trying to open the standalone.
    Any help much appreciated!

    Thank you @bluerover.
I will try those out, and get back to you.
I did just let the installer do it's thing, so in theory everything is in the right place.

Check the runtime.txt included in the release:

You need to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2019 Redistributable Package (x64)

Also why did you install Windows 10 20H2 ? It hasn't been released yet, the latest stable build is version 2004 (known as May 2020 Update)

I use the TeamOS versions of WIn10 you can get them in themes and vanilla they mod them for gammers i think.. so they have to be good for audio also
they remove all the bloatware etc... Google them or ask an OP for a link to there site

Rules dont allow me to give links but I think you can PM me not sure just trying to help

That's actually where I got it from, and it is specifically a TeamOS release.
    But thank you.

You require the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable
IN fact there is an ALL IN ONE package for 2005- 20XX versions from Majorgeeks.
Most older apps use the 2005 and the 2008 runtimes, newer applications are using runtimes 2010+

Hey bro, they have RX8 for macOS on AZ. I'm just curious why you'd use Parallels as opposed to your native machine. I feel you on the Windows thing though and I was only away from it for a few years. It now takes great focus just to scroll the page the right way.

    @rootwits
Your advice on the package was all I needed! Many thanks!
Prior comment didn't help me, or comments past your comment!
No idea. It was on TeamOS, a free-leech, and was activated.

We all have been there. The classic Visual C++ runtime missing error.

    What does it actually do?
So the .ddl that were missing are from this pack I see.
I had thought that the iZotope installer had failed to place something!

And the answer to your next question would be because there is an app related to visuals that will not be updated...

These runtimes install the core C++ functionality of the Microsoft C++ compiler. The user of every C++ program compiled with the Microsoft C++ compiler (only the compiler, a complex IDE like Visual Studio which is the frequent case) will need it.

If a program is compiled with another one will also need the corresponding runtime. for instance , Soundtheory Gullfoss is compiled with the Intel C++ compiler and it needs the Intel c++ runtime files.

Anyways, I fail to see why so many programs doesn't just check this when installing instead of later giving weird errors for the average user.

I have tried the music rebalance feature in RX8, running the standalone, and no bass, percussion or vocals revealed as I turned the faders and clicked the buttons like youtubers did in tutorials. In fact, the audio itself didn't change at all. I downloaded RX8 from Moria in the sister site, and the plugins in daw work, although this music rebalance thing doesn't seem to... Any way I can get it to work?

    @Logic Pro X 10.15 user Hey man.
    Yes, I remember that.
    RX7 is fine though.

Yet Acoustica! That works beautifully for this too. Recommended.
    On the sister site.

    My totally amateur quickie review.
I've only just started exploring RX8, and have never explored a previous version.
That's my way of saying I'm probably talking through my butt here.

I'm exploring only the stand alone and only the Rebalance feature.
I found the same issue as you described - Rebalance didn't seem to change anything.

I tried using the 'Preview' button - it was an almost unusable performance.
Just too much processing in real time so it would just stutter along for a few seconds then gasp.

I tried making no adjustments to the levels and pressing the 'Separate' button.
That was far more interesting. Now it went off grinding away for ages,
e.g., for a 3 minute piece of music it would spend 10 minutes for each of the components Vocal, Bass, Percussion, and Other
So, that's a 40 minute processing task for a 3 minute piece of music!
Admittedly I had the quality setting set to 'Best' - but I do need to know what it's capable of.
After it completed, it had 5 files open (was not immediately obvious to me wearing my dunce hat)
That's the original file and the four components separated out.
The separation was quite impressive (nowhere near perfect of course)
Those components can then each be easily saved as separate wav files

After that I tried making arbitrary adjustments e.g., reduce bass to -infinity, and then press the 'Render' button
and off it went again for ages and ages.
But at the end it had a new original file comprising a remix of the four separated components (with no Bass)

Overall, I'm very impressed, and I can't criticise a program when I get confused simply because I was too lazy
and too rushed to read the manual.

I can live with the long (not real time) processing time.
Separating old mixes out into remixable stems is just so precious, whatever it takes.

They do make brags about how much better RX8 is than RX7 for Rebalancing but I really wouldn't know.

Is there anything out there (that's not an online service) that can genuinely do this separation task better?

p.s. Smoove - you said you already had your answers to your questions,
so I think this subtopic about RX8 is hopefully not a distraction.
