What are you talking about bro? I live here now have been here for almost 30 years. This is the 5th country I have lived in for at least one year. I have experienced first hand the good and the bad the U.S.A. has to offer. When you put everything on the table it is not the worst country. Not by a long-shot. Is it perfect? It is not. Can it be better? Yes, of course but show me one country that is perfect? It does not exist.

 

It is interesting how a thread which topic is the restriction of internet in Russia has turned into a let us bash the U.S.A.

In every war controlling the info was paramount. You can lose or win a war with that! Prepare yourself for WWW III. It's just Russia preparing for a fatal cyber attack from the United States. It has been escalating since the 2016 Russian meddling in the United States Presidential Election. The U.S. has been attacking Russian internet sites in retaliation to Putin's cyber interference. Back-and-forth for almost 3 years now (that WE know of). My guess is that Putin just wants to have a back-up plan in the event their international internet access gets denied by the United States.
It's nothing to worry about (if you're Russian)... your hackers will regain access to international internet in mere hours!!

If it was in the few's interest to shut down the means of mass social communication in order to quell dissenting opinion it could now happen in the blink of an eye under the guise of a national emergency. For decades the strategy of divide and conquer has been the way to keep various groups out of each other's welcoming embrace to join and struggle against the power elite. With current advanced psychological techniques, spy tools and futuristic scientific personal and crowd dispersment weapons, it will be hard if not impossible for things to change for the better without burning it all to the ground.
