    Ive seen recently that plugins like Soothe 2 and the entire Softube library get cracked for Windows, and was wondering if anyone had any info as to whether or not cracks for these plugins will be available soon for OSX, or if they are out already?

    unless they don't have to modify the plugin itself (not the id code, to say something), mac users won't see so much new plugins cracked

    Plugins so awesome are always in demand for mac users. I say this as a mac user myself, but unfortunately, such awesome plugins are NOT YET cracked for macos. Humble request to all the pros who can crack plugins. Please crack slate plugins and other awesome ones for macOS users. Please!

    if what i said happens, they won't. i think it is because it takes a lot of time and copyright stuff (they normally use reverse engineering to avoid any of that), to modify the intermodule comunications and change they activation one (that is what happened with soothe and any ilok-based plugin from the big wave)

    R2R have already said in some nfo files that they will not waste time cracking iLok and other heavy protections on Mac until the M1 CPU and plugins are more mainstream as its a waste of their time spending massive amounts of resource cracking Intel code only to have to do it all over again on ARM.

    Does the new Stive apples also have enhanced drm chip that devs can use to further enhance the copy protection of their products? if so that complicates the process of cracks for them for now Windoze is the easiest way to use lifetime trial software

    Looks like MAC users will have to use Bootcamp and run WIN10. Then you can have all the goodies. It's the best of both worlds.

    It really isn't, because first, you have to use Windows (if that was acceptable, we'd probably be running Windows machines in the first place! ;) ) and secondly, because you can't use Bootcamp on modern Macs going forward (ie non-Intel Macs).

    (And third, you can't use your existing system you've invested your time and energy into using.)

    *Personally* I'd rather just use the plugins I have and buy new Mac ones, than move to Windows to run something that's available on Win-only. It's not like any of those tools are *required* to make music, and there are plenty of alternatives too, nice though some of those things undoubtedly are.

    I'm sure there will be other folks where the attraction of free stuff and their not-that-fussed-about-Mac attitudes will make them move over to Windows, and if so, good luck to them, especially if they are running a cross-platform DAW like Ableton Live or something, which makes it easier.

    Yeah it sounds like the new M1's suck then. I've only had a 2012 Mac Mini and it did both. Built only Win systems ever since.

    I'm super excited about M1. No heat, no fan noise, high battery life, super fast/powerful. That's a "yes" from me...

    Bluetooth is unstable, external monitor functionality and compatibility is tricky;
    performance in Rosetta2 apps like ProTools with plugins is basically on par with Core-i7 MacMini 2018;
    M1 Macs are great but not flawless

    I understand the thinking about anything not M1/ARM is a waste; but I don't think it is, and will not be for a long time. The last-built fastest Intel (pre m1) Macs will become great deals to buy. people will be running them for a long time to come, and there are still a lot of applications which have not been scene released. ones that people will run as the "last greatest" versions for those machines for years to come would make them targets, you would think.

    Just the opposite faster performance with a lot less heat - the new M1 Mac Mini pisses over the Intel ones from a massive height in terms of performance.

    It just takes a while for audio plugins to catch up just like it did when Mac moved from PPC to Intel back in the day.
