running ableton live 12 on mid 2012 macbook pro retina with opencore patch

    Does anybody run an old macbook pro retina with opencore patcher update to run latest macos
    How does ableton live run on those machines with updated macos ?

    Im currently running ableton 10 on my 2012 macbook pro retina and would like to upgrade to live 12 but i cant update to 12 because i cant install latest macos

    Does using opencore patcher cause any trouble using ableton live 12 ?

    The problem isn’t running a modern macOS via OCLP; it’s that the machine itself will be buried by Ableton Live 12. You can upgrade to a newer macOS, but you’ll probably end up back on 10 once you see how Live 12 actually runs.

    I'm running a 2014 mid mbpro with 16g ram. Also using betterdisplay to half the dpi, giving the GPU and heat some slack of around 5⁰C
