I wonder if it'll do midi or have a block plugin.
Plus an app for my tablet with midi would be desirable as well so I'm not stuck on that controller.

 

As far as i know, it's only working with the app.If you could manage to get that midi on a daw would be great, but as a standalone app with only a few sounds doesn't seem very good

 

maybe they are just testing its wireless ability on this, to come along with a second "pro" version that could act like a controller, transferring the midi information wirelessly to any DAW

 

Is this the best they could do after Equator and Seaboard Controller Keyboards.. ???? This is some stupid kiddie shit who the fuck is the marketed to ? Pros ? I think not..Calling the shit in the ad music is a stretch .

this was my reaction exactly when I saw the showcase stream yesterday,
I do own Seaboard RISE49 and that is an amazingly well-though truly innovative controller,
I was expecting ROLI would announce some percussion or pad device to match the Seaboard lineup, but they just came up with an overpriced touchscreen toy - almost 600€ for two lightpads, one live and one loop block as minimum reasonable config, for the fck sake this much??? - Seaboard RISE25 costs 799€ and definitely is a better value for what you get!
and honestly whole presentation felt like applish/googlish marketing bullshit blabber, plus I sincerely don't understand why everyone is so much obsessed with touchscreens, they are so much inferior to regular mouse+keyboard and big screen in terms of accuracy precision, ease of use and viewing comfort....

Maybe they are just like all the other companies.Take for example Apple.If that make an iPhone, they sell millions of them to all of the people.If they make a mac pro, they sell about 10 000 of them only to "pros".That is the case now.Seaboard etc are for a small number o people, while this toy here might sell ta the public (although it's price is sh*t)

 

only trendy and attractive people are allowed to use these apparently.

Ill just stick to ableton with input quantize, beat repeat, scale and chord plugins. And the tablet as an additional controller, same same but PRO™

Seriously though, touch screen interactivity is a promising kind of tech if you do it right. Just take a look at Animoog's virtual ribbon keyboard.
It's a little surprising to get something so simple from the guys who took over FXpansion.
I'd like dedicated Geist hardware with their entire suite of plugins built in and an integrated Rise keyboard. For FREE.
