The goal is the preserve the original digital and VA hardware synths, their DSP effects and standalone DSP effects processing units to be as computer plugins with their own unique sound which cannot be emulated close to 100% with other developers (Waldorf, Korg, Roland, Yamaha maybe achieved that, Adam Szabo, arturia and others made not as close as 100% but bit less or even worse. Hope Szabo's is closer to TUS modelling, than Arturia imho). Why TUS is between 99 and 100% - they ported code that was inside real gear, and they not emulated DAC (instead there is a SRC from gear sample rate to DAW project sample rate, except maybe Ostirus sounding as thru USB or so), wires hum and noise, your ADC, so here you get true gear sound without DAC, wiring, ADC, but with SRC. Something like that.

jp 80x0 is not only for trance, but it is classic for trance. You can make also modern sounds, house, dnb, trap, synthwave, ambient, modern techno, yes leads pads basses, sfx etc, synthetic percs maybe.. Yes, it is not dubstep growling, not wavetabley Serum.. Each synth has its own unique signature, vibe etc... Korg ms20, moogs, prophet, jp80x0, 2600, kobol expander, virus, m1, dx7, nords, omnisphere, nexus, avenger, uhe, spirelenth, madrona labs... For modern or virtual fake analog or true analog or old/new analog, hybrid A&D (wasp deluxe) or crossover A&D (JD-Xa), additive, fm, rompler etc etc etc.. 70s or 80s or 90s or 2000s or now. Each synth has its own place, niche, pros and cons..

Fair enough - if the devs published that info yesterday (with the release of the JE8086), then their approach to this information has now changed, and discussion is open.

like most if these things, you probably have to add a ton of effects and processing to get them to sound decent. The raw sound can be unimpressive. Nexus is so impressive, but it’s 90% reverb and delay.

I have the JP running well with the factory sets. I have all these uploaded here. I see the .rars and unpack those. Can I put the .mid/syx still in the folders into the ROM folder with the factory or is there another way to do it right and have the JP see them? It doesnt seem to be recognizing I'm adding soundsets.

 

"jp8080_v1.04" ROM from sister site is not working. Who posting stuff without testing it first? Amateur work.
But what expect from someone who even can't write own readme but stole it or adding large pictures of ladies into uploads.

I unpacked all the soundset .rars and placed in ROM folder but the patch count is still the same when reopening the plugin. I'm doing something clearly wrong here.

 

Put them in another folder, and point the browser to that folder as a "Data Source". They will all then show up in the browser.
For more info on how the patch browser works in all the TUS products, there's a blog post on their website...

 

The JP-8080 is not yet working. Only the JP-8000 works in the plugin right now.

 

*** Figured out. There is an add folder/file icon on the bottom left side of the JP browser. Went from 960 to 9000+

Ok now THIS I'm actually looking forward to, but I am going to guess, like the Microwave XT, it's going to be missing that little tiny bit of 'grime' you get from the hardware. My SDE1000 stopped working a few years ago, and my SRV-330's display is starting to lose some digits. My collection of SE-50/70s is still kicking though, but would love to have a plugin version of those for that crazy pitch shifter!!

Roland - JP80x0 ROMs and Stuff ( Posting from @ Articstorm Sister Side)
This includes Roms, Manuals and a few soundsets in one pack. Just keep this for the future, when the divine miracle will happen.

1. Put all your Midi and Sys Soundsets into a small folder: " JE-8086 Soundsets " , put the "JE-8086 Soundsets" into C:/ or rename the existing folder!

2. Load the JE-8086 VST3 in your DAW
3. Go to the "Browser"
4. Go to "Data Sources "
5. Click on the Small Folder Button and it opens a new menu " Add Files "
6. Go the " JE-8086 Soundsets " and click "Select Order"
7. That all
