Oh my god. A guy who was singer for my band grew up with Taylor and played with him all through high school. I got a kick being one degree removed from him. What the hell! 50? Just... damn. Can't even imagine what happened. RIP, what a fantastic player.

 

I wasn't Foo Fighters #1 fan, or anything, but saw them live back at a festival in 1998. Pretty much instantly fell in love with Hawkins' drumming style. So much energy, and he and Grohl always brought a whole different level of entertainment to a show that you don't often see with other groups. Great sense of humor. Grohl has a huge personality, but Hawkins kept up with him pretty well. Lost another one too early!

RIP. Thoughts with his family and kids. And poor Dave can't seem to catch a break when it comes to dead bandmates

 

Damn! Certainly one of the last musicians I thought I'd read about dying

 

Could be but he had a history of drug abuse and wild partying. He spent two weeks in a coma in 2001 from a heroine overdose.

Yeah, I think it will be the drugs sadly. I remember on a documentary about why he has so many other musical projects (his solo stuff, Chevy Metal etc..) and I got the impression it was to keep busy to avoid going back down that path. I don’t know if any of you saw Count Me In on Netflix or Studio 666, or really anything recent with him, he didn’t seem the same or have the same vibe and energy. Such a shame.

Every time a death occurs, the doctor issues a death certificate. Also, if there is any doubt about the cause
of death, the police will investigate if there is a crime. If there is any doubt, his body will be autopsied.

 

RIP. Not the biggest Foo fan, but he always came across as someone who truly loved his music and a decent bloke all together.

And please, can we not speculate on the cause of death, this is no place to bring your hobby horse conspiracy theories, have some goddamn respect and take it elsewhere if you need to.

 

It is not worth spending another minute of your time in the emotional state you are likely in.
Better to distract with something else and forget the morons.
There is SO much to engage with, besides this one.
I am prescribing for you: Kittens. Kittens and puppies on You Tube for at least 3 minutes.

 

Damn. Taylor always looked to me like he was having incredible fun when he was sitting on the throne and wailing away. It's too bad that he died at so young an age, he had so much more to offer in service to his artful place in the world of music. RIP.

I really hope its not drug related. I really liked this guy.
