In What silencing the death of someone who's been a model to many to get the best out of themselves is helping the ones dying from starvation?. But now to sum how stupid your comment is, here's the answer to your question : It's going to help them less as they will no longer receive the big checks he used to send.

Guys, this is a death report.
Can't we just let our opinions, egos, and theories aside for a moment and simply be respectful, or at least silent ?
Would this be too much effort?

At age 41 (or 33, 16, 9..), how many people died (Coronavirus?) yesterday?
Every life is (equally) sacred, and death tragic. More or less.

No disrespect to anyone, but the "Every life is equal" fallacy, always raises it's head whenever a celebrity dies.
It's a false argument no one ever need make, but someone always proclaims.

The reason millions of people, from all over the world, will discuss the death of any one individual,
is because of the degree and/or scale of impact - usually both, their life has had on others.

This doesn't mean other lives are less worthy of acknowledgment in their deaths.
It's merely the feedback of having a greater sphere of influence in a lifetime.

Sad as hell to have fathers & kids (some just 13 years ;___;) die so young. As far as the accusations go? What Evan Rachel Wood said:
Actually, the woman was from a rich family (the Fabers) and received countless death threats! She was left bruised and bleeding.
Kobe himself apologised! So he was condemed. By himself. Using his own words. These words: "I want to apologize directly to the young woman involved in this incident. I want to apologize to her for my behavior that night and for the consequences she has suffered in the past year." And these lies.

He was such an awesome player, one of the best ever. I only saw him play at the Collesium a few times, tons on television, but seeing him in the flesh was crazy exciting because every time he touched the ball there was the possibility of seeing some kind of voodoo MOJO transpire, either he shooting an impossible long three or taking someone to the hoop and scolding them like a little child. His will to succeed was great and he came out on top way more than standing on the second rung and looking up. He was really just a kid when he came into the NBA and it was awesome to see him grow into the mature athlete that he became. Too bad about his daughter and the others on board the helicopter. It must have been one fucked up ride down that razor sharp escalater.

What a downer, yep. I'm a basket lover (currently enjoying with Doncic, Lebron and other great players). I didn't like him especially as a player considering he's one of the all-time greatest.
But he was a legend. And extremely hard-worker.

    And this comment is spot-on:

yes you're right, i'm sorry...i was in a bad place, feeling fucked off and was getting tired of celbrity culture i guess . i do have strong feelings about the cult of (sports particularly) personality but i didn't know him and i might have been a bit more circumspect in my judgement and characterisation of him and his death.

Sorry Oly, but I can't let pass such lies which are for now akin to desecration of his grave.

    Kobe Bryant's apologies:

"Although I truly believe this encounter between us was consensual, I recognize now that she did not and does not view this incident the same way I did. After months of reviewing discovery, listening to her attorney, and even her testimony in person, I now understand how she feels that she did not consent to this encounter."

I can't find any sign of self-condemnation in these words, at least for rape...

"... a sexual assault complaint filed by a 19-year-old hotel employee."

My bad, I didn't know she was Paris Hilton.

"Civil case: In August 2004, the accuser filed a civil lawsuit against Bryant over the incident. In March 2005, the two parties settled that lawsuit. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed to the public. The Los Angeles Times reported that legal experts estimated the settlement was more than $2.5 million."

You see, even when you're Paris Hilton, you always want more cash.

Famouslut, your nickname suits you... sadly well.

This case is everyday. The woman says kinda says no, gives in later. If she regrets it, it’s rape, if he’s rich it’s rape. Why would a choke her down rapist make such a statement?!

Misunderstanding of a situation can lead to rape charges.

Also we don’t know anything of the deviant, evil things you do cause you haven’t contributed to anything in this world noting. NO ONE cares about you.

    Stop being an attention whore

To add, celebrities are IN our lives, we know their names, ages, kids, spouses, lives, loves. They're acquaintances we've never met. Contrast that to the millions starving, dying useless senseless death.. but we don't know their names, their ages, their favourite toy.. we don't know THEM.
Simply, its easier to feel for someone u have an idea about that. That doesn't make us heartless, I don't think. It makes u human.

Although most are appreciative of their fans, many a times from their perspective, and annoyance, is the complaint that just because they are famous, people think they know them..... or much worse, that they are actually the characters they play.

Maybe look at it this way.... their jobs are in your life. You know fukk all about them personally.

the broad term 'you' that is. :)

Could we find any thread about David Bowie or Prince in a major professional basketball forum when they died ? Probably not. Why are we talking about a basketball player here today ? Let's be honest, sportmen are the new rockstars and Pop music in need of heroes !
