72 is a bit early and also kinda long enough :(
The Utube Link is not available in my country because UMG restricted access.
Hope his widow insists on every cent she can get from them.

Sad to hear about this. Think he gave Satriani a few lessons some time ago. Shows how awesome the dude was.
Although Jazz not really my thing you can appreciate the raw talent that is on display.
His music flows and goes from Out there to serene and tranquil.
It always provokes thought and he crosses borders and ventures into different genres with ease.
Will be sadly missed and may he rest in peace :(

  6. Yea, what an awesome, unique talent. Not your average player and constantly surprising me, coming out of nowhere with combinations and flurries novel and unheard previously on this planet...like your post of Characters.

One of the best guitar players of his generation. He will obviously be missed and 72 is indeed early by today's standard.

    Great guitarplayer he was indeed.

I prefer his recordings from the 80´ties with Marc Johnson and Peter Erskine which I consider one of the very best jazz fusion trios ever.

I can recomment: "Furs on Ice" and "current Avents" (have them both on vinyl ;.))

Somehow felt that when I wrote it :) I'm not really a Lyricist. Perhaps I should try.
