I'd always rob a copy from the services. That and CM.

Let's hope Way Back Machine itself survives after being sewed for $600 mil by the record labels.

According to sources that informed MusicTech, Future will also be closing Computer Music, Total Guitar, Guitar Techniques and Guitar Player magazines.

    Yikes!

Alas, it would be way more interesting to review all the 90's and 00's FM magazines and CDs,
    than anything past 2010..

There were real gems on those magazine disks, we need to get them together somehow.

A ton of it is on FileSilo. But it could really use some sort of index. If you were trying to find something specific, you'd have to know what issues to look under. https://www.filesilo.co.uk There are archives of both Future Music and Computer Music content. It's obviously impossible to say if anything specific is missing, unless you already knew what you are looking for.

Some content will ask you to answer a question to verify you have a copy of the magazine. " First word on page 87" type of thing. But you can easily get past them.

well print media and even digital versions are dying, so no wonder.

over the spam i saw them popping up on sister page, i saw repeating topics, which i could now find better covered in youtube videos.

I bought the early editions, along with CM, MT and SOS but stopped after a few years as I just found them lacking in educational value once I'd reached a certain level of understanding. I also didn't trust their gear reviews as it seemed that EVERYTHING was always good and suspected them to be in the pockets of manufacturers due to advertising revenue. SOS was always the superior of the print magazines in my opinion, some great info coming from them over the years.

They're not the only music magazine print edition to bite the dust lately.
I was just notified that I will not receive the remainder of my Guitar Player subscription and they gave me a choice to switch to Guitar World, which I took.
Need something to read on the crapper:(

I’m sad about magazines disappearing, period. There’s nothing like having a drink and leafing through a glossy magazine, while maybe listening to some vinyl or hanging outside in the sun. Or as bedside reading before going to bed.

I did read FM (and CM, and SOS), but when Keyboard keeled over, I was really sad about that one. Truly an end of an era.

And vintage magazines are such a time capsule, it’s a trip with all the ads etc. Those are not going anywhere, but as long as people on eBay are asking tens of $$$ per issue, I ain’t buying.

I wouldn’t mind having a digital archive (on Archive.org or sinilar), to get copies on an iPad for example, but a lot of this stuff is lost forever because of copyright issues.

Filesilo only has most of the additional content which came with the printed magazines; but many issues are also available as scanned pdf files going back over 10+ years on torrent sites. Maybe not every single issue; just because things can fall through the cracks of non-official sources. Downloading from Archive.org really gives the feeling of being back in the day. Getright fired up and getting like 15kbs.
