I still remember the impact Erarserhead had on me when I was a teenager. I don't really know what to say... the world will suck a little more without him making films :/

I tried to watch eraserhead one of the first times I got stoned. It was too much all I remember is the screen zooming in on the moon. Iconic film maker, such good (and fucking bizarre) movies under his belt. Saw his version of dune like a decade ago at one of the nicest theaters in seattle, was epic.

Not to mention the soundtrack to twin peaks. Ugh. I gotta quit cigs

Been meaning to re-watch his "sitcom" for ages, so tonight is a good night as any to remember his work:

RIP and thank you for all the weirdness and inspiration!

Same guy behind "True Story" and "Elephant Man", Dune ... and a bunch of others.
This guy was one of a kind.

Damn, didn't see this coming tbh. I was fully expecting him to get to see Dune part 3 and share his thoughts on Villeneuve's take. My first and still favourite director .

    Every time I watch
    A David Lynch film,
    I'm whisked away to
    An alternate reality...
    Where everything is similar,
    But nothing quite the same

    RIP

I did. life long smoker, two COVID vaccines plus a booster, old age meaning very little mitochondria to spare to clear up the damage from both. too much for anybodies immune system at that age. emphysema has a prognosis of about 4-5 years give or take. the fact he was only diagnosed the beginning of 2024 and died in a bit less than a year is telling

This one really hit me though. i generally don't give two fucks about most celebrity deaths, but Quincy Jones and this one hit home quite a bit for me. they were big parts of my life. i found Lynch a lot later in life than most, but been addicted to his shit ever since

    RIP Fella. absolute legend

Fond memories of anxiously taping the first season of Twin Peaks in order to impress my high-school girlfriend (and her artist dad.) Jokes aside, what a loss. Focus on the donut, not the hole.

Nooooo! I loved David Lynch. He's the exact kind of artist that I typically would have considered pretentious "emperor has no clothes" nonsense, but I got him. I think he made true art on film. Mostly, anyway, he did have a period I wasn't a fan of. Anyway, this is sad.
