Too young, way too young to go.

It serves as a reminder that nobody is invincible and we are all organic.
But a reminder most of us would rather get in a better way, but life doesn't work that way.
I feel sadness for his parents and elders in his family.
No parent should EVER outlive their child :(

I 'm quite certain he didn't die of fame or stardom bro. Everybody has problems, some people can take the heat of huge exposure and relentless touring (and all that comes with it) but some just aren't cut out for it. Pair the latter with serious health issues and you got what happened to Avicii.
I mean wth, Mick Jagger is 75 alive and kicking, and i 'm quite certain he's had his "excess" times.

Now i am not a huge EDM fan, some tracks i do enjoy but in general not a lot, although oddly enough i get to mix/master enough of it. People expressing their dislike of the deceased because he was a part of that genre should take it on another thread as suggested by the mods. Criticizing is easy, especially when the person under critique will never get to answer.
I wonder how fucked up is this world so we now have to verbally attack people post mortem? Don't care if he was the worse producer ever (which he wasn't of course). He was a young musician and now he's dead. All he did was make and play music. I don't see how this can generate such hate. And to all the naysayers he had the balls and talent to take his music to the biggest stages. Have you ?
PS: I know this is not an EDM song, but due to its title and lyrical content i dedicate this song to all young musicians and encourage them to take their life in their own hands and do something for themselves and their loved ones, just like young Avicii did. Rest in peace.

I would say stardom itself didn't take his life, but what i would blame is the criminal machinery behind big business presented as "entertainment", without a doubt. after it touches your art it will be suffering, it will become more and more a product that is to be dispatched with a fury, most the times that should cause a lot of problems for the psyche of people.

whatever reason drove you to write is soon to have problems, whatever fine feeling inspired you is not there anymore since priorities around you will change, the psychopathic phrase "do it!" is most probably going to take a bigger place in your life. and im sure most people cope for a while, since there is reward, huge rewards. but to just "produce" and deliver is not art, it must hurt to know how many compromises you are making to "just do it!".

what are the most classic claims from artists brought into the killing zone called u.s entertainment industry when they talk in interviews?
    lost of identity
    lost of dignity
    deep depressions
    alcoholism
    drug abuse
lost of interest in the art
lost of inspiration and therefor anguish

take a look at these international artists dying the last years. how many died of natural causes?

what bothers me the most is that it all presented as the "price for success" as a "dream" when its more of a "put up or shut up".

and sure, some people can get out of it but it seems that many like in this case, once marked they will carry the problems with them in one way or another. with tim most probably the damage to his body had already happened.

Don't know his story, but isn't he Swedish? Did Amerikkkan Devils come dancing across the water with their galleons and guns on over to Sweden & spirit him away, shackled, on an Oman vocation?
Why can't those greedy entertainment industry bastards be like all the decent industries, which pay you millions for just being you?

I think everybody should watch the documentary about him, you'll know exactly why he died ( not how ).

it ends giving the idea that he finally took control over his life, but he didn't.

nobody handles fame the same way, especially when it happens at young age, and becomes strongly linked with identity.

once again : watch the documentary, skip the few "flattering comments" from famous peers saying how great he was if you want, but you'll have all the elements to demonstrate that it couldn't end well.

You`re certainly right, and I dind't mean he died from his intrinsic problems but problems connected to all those bloodsuckers around him who forced him to go on and on even when he suffered from life threatening deseases. Like his "mentor" or manager.
In general one can split those stars roughly into two categories. Poeple who have the strenght to manage their life and success themselves like Jagger and the others who are managed and directed by others, like Avicii who was directed by this almost criminal machinery as @EddieXx said.

Like everything else, it's just a (absolute) luck factor. It's got nothing to do with "bloodsuckers, fame, strength.....". He survived (abusement of m-any sorts) 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s.... If avicii is "definitely too young to die"; what about (take a casual stroll through pediatric oncology) all those never to be known "future producers, megastars, kindest possible human beings ever.. only if..". Only if what? What about their media coverage and worldwide "you'll be deeply missed" rip wishes and unbearable feelings of grief and loss?

"The only difference between a death and a martyrdom really is the amount of press coverage. There's no point in doing anything if nobody's watching. The same as if a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, you realize, if no one had been there to witness the agony of Christ, would we be saved? You wonder, if there had been a low turnout at the crucifixion, would they have rescheduled? The key to salvation is how much attention you get. How high a profile you get. Your audience share. Your exposure. Your name recognition. Your press following. The buzz. There’s always the chance you could die right in the middle of your life story."

The question is not if anyone is too young to die but if he was too young to die. Not an absolute measure but a relative one, that's the difference.

The other thing are those illnesses in early childhood (not only cancer). These deaths are absolute too early and for me the main problem to believe in a loving god. A god sending such illnesses by intent seems to be a monster to me.

What is the age; or even better, what is the number - despite how person feels his.. "life" - when we with hi level of certainty can say it's ok (right about time) for him/her (it) to die. Time to be dead. Numbers for "rest in peace" age. Kinda moronic, right?

*The question*.. relative one.. for some kind of mass entertainment, "important".. when you're dead.. focus on individual, the importance of individual, sudden needs (documentary ready for) for understanding his/hers life energy, drives, struggles, problems, downfalls, reasons for xy and cons for yx.... as some kind of media mockery (last "drippings" of $.. from the corpse) by the "same machinery" at one side, and on (for) the other, relative by popularity, (dead flesh feasting) mass praises and/or judgments of character....

"RIP :( I wonder what happened... Probably drugs or alcohol"

Says allot about "our twisted 2-sided god", on who's image are "we all, beautiful ones, begotten".
