I dunno lads, if you had given Michelangelo 6,000,000 paint-brushes and then asked him to evaluate the best one ...... he may never have painted an actual painting again.

 

nobody is asking Michelangelo to evaluate 6 MILLION paintbrushes. He is asking his friends and colleagues what they think are the best paintbrushes worth buying.

 

my favorite reverb is probably eventide eclipse, i also like altiverb 7
but i think its always fun to try new plugins

the universal audio is very high quality too, i demoed them all native
the only issue i had was some crashes and audio stuttering or hanging studio one.

i used waves in 2008 but now i stopped i just dont find them INTERESTING anymore.
uad is what im interested in.. i remember i used MAXXBASS on every track lol. one of my fav aphex aural exciter. vocal rider.. JJP signature also

Eq3 is better than PRO q3.. in fact this looks that good that this is the only eq that i almost use
pro q3 has some weird ability to sound plastic and unnatrual. yeah i used it before..

You speak my mind. Out of all the EQ's I have, Fabfilter sounds too plastic. I only use it for it's spectrum grab function that I haven't discovered in any other EQ.

 

I'm not sure why we bring up Michelangelo hyperbole, when everyone knows there is probably not 1 musician alive today that will ever reach the heights of a DaVinci, Vermeer, Rembrandt, or even a Touluse-Lautrec. They still do not even know how many of the Masters mixed their paint.
You could take each of those 6 million paint brushes, hand them out to 6 million painters, and you will still never end up with a DaVinci from the entire bunch. You could even repeat the process for 500 years.

 

Size matters!

 

this thread has about 1/3 overlap with what i use and I'm happy to gatekeep most of my favorites. the most you'll get out of me is eventide is neat (someone else already mentioned it so I'm actually giving nothing whoops ). Have fun sharing the same popular sounds from u-he, omnisphere, massive, nexus, waves and serum. You guys are doing great work!

 

But at least they would have one each, and thus concentrate on painting! ;)

Depends on what you mean by "heights". We probably have to many of Vermeers, Rembrandts, or even a Touluse-Lautrecs that's why no one becomes a Vermeer, Rembrandt, or even a Touluse-Lautrec. Or as it said "you might have 100 Napoleons in your army, but only one will become a general" There are other demands now. The skill level of an average Joe, the material knowledge, the know-how level today is beyond imaginable at the time of Michelangelo, so what? no one cares.
