Rhythm for my song

    Hello guys pardon my foolish question but it is important
    I have written a song I wrote the lyrics,Melody and chords and the time signature is 4/4 but IAM having trouble fitting the words in a bar I mean that I don't know whether to start singing on first beat of the measure of the second etc basically u dont know which words should fall on strong beats and which on the weak beats I hope you understood my questions ..

    Hello.
    Calculate syllables as you write lyrics. When they don't match, replace some words with synonyms.

    Alternatively, your music may need to breath, a space. The melody stops and we only hear the beat. Maybe one maybe two more kicks and then chords start again. If you can do it wisely, that's a good way to emphasize.

    If I'm understanding correctly, the question of whether a vocal should start on the down/upbeat etc is decided by Fleurpink?

    I've dreamed of one day recording vocals as a wee lad
