Glad to see a new oscillator type. I'm still waiting on wavetable import. But a new osc type is probably the next most wanted feature for me personally. Now if they'll double the steps in the step sequencer/arp/stepper, I'll be a happy camper.

Edit: I'd actually like to see filter drive, osc note as a destination in matrix, and several other things too. But the wt import would be huge!

 

why is it that in 1.1.7 every time i change the gui and open a new instance of spire is back to dark. I want the original theme permanently. Is that possible.

 

Advice for FL Studio 12.3 users :

after you have installed Spire v1.1.8, to avoid crashes, it is better rescan all plugins otherwise FL Studio will handle it how the version 1.1.7 or older. You have to check the "Rescan previously verified plugins" option to get a better result.

Do I still need to do that fixed buffers thingy? that will hold of a lot of fl studio users because it produces a tiny amount of delay

Opening the DAW to start a new project, it "remember" the GUI chosed using the last instance in the last project and/or session.

For me it was the features that sold me. I mean easy and fun programming of sounds. I like to program new sounds while making music, so if a synth is too complicated it becomes more of a chore than fun. However, if you invest enough time into it, any synth can become your workhorse synth.

Having said that, what turns me off with Spire is that it is a bit unreliable and doesn't seem coded so well. Big and inefficient code. But its sound is really interesting and different.

To me, Spire just sounds amazing.
I don't use a synth not sounding "alive" and "punchy".

I never liked Zebra, Absynth and all those "do it all" synths. Because there is always something missing on the personality side.
Hive : very efficient, but not amazingly sounding.
Diversion : very detailed, but "no balls" (sorry...)
And i can continue this list up to the roof (tested almost them all, for 15 years).

I like Spire, ACE, SynthSquad, Serum and some others (even the good old Komplexer) because i FEEL and HEAR something special when i play them. Same goes with guitar amp sims.

Features are second to base engine sound. Because another synth can complement some missing features. Not base engine sound :D

A simply great synth that pairs well with Spire.

I've been waiting for a replacement for my beloved VAZ Modular for a very long time. First I tried ACE and it's good, but not really a modular. Semi-modular like MS-20. Bazille is also not a real modular, but it's much closer to what I am able to easily do with VAZ. NI Reaktor is really interesting, but too complicated to use while composing. I'm not saying I can't use it, just that it's not as fast and easy as VAZ. There's also Softube modular, that lacks many features that VAZ has. What I would actually like best is the new version of VAZ, but that won't happen. So in the meantime Bazille is the closest [semi] modular I can use to make "funny" sounds you simply cannot make with anything else.

Nice to see a new Spire update. There must be some regressions in version 1.1.10 since they put it out so quickly.
