    Hello Everyone,

If you ever have to reinstall windows because you get a new PC.
And you can't use a system image or clone your drive because of new hardware, drivers..

Follow my instructions below & you will not have to add your Kontakt libraries,
or organise them again in the order you like.

I have 2,710 libraries which I've spent an insane amount of time organising
as I've been collecting. e.g. Strings, Brass, Woodwinds..
So when I get a new PC, I do not want to organise 2,710 libraries again lol

If any of you have a lot of libraries organised the way you like as well.
Do the following to save yourself a long tedious time in the future -

    Backup -

    .Run regedit.exe go to -
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE folder, right click the Native Instruments folder
Click Export, type a file name of your choice & save the reg key to the desktop

    .Run regedit.exe go to -
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE folder, right click the Native Instruments folder
Click Export, type a file name of your choice & save the reg key to the desktop

    .Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments folder
Then back up the Service Centre folder, along with the
2 reg keys from the desktop, to an external drive.

    Restore -

When you've installed windows on your new PC, do the following -

    .Install Kontakt

    .Run regedit.exe go to -
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE folder, right click the Native Instruments folder
Then click Delete, Yes (That's if this Native Instruments folder exists)
    .Run regedit.exe go to -
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE folder, right click the Native Instruments folder
Then click Delete, Yes (That's if this Native Instruments folder exists)

.Double click the 2 reg keys you have backed up on your external drive,
& import them by clicking Yes, Yes

    .Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments folder
& delete the Service Centre folder (if there is one)
Then replace it with the one you have backed up on your external drive.

Now when you connect your external drive/drives & load kontakt, all your libraries
will automatically appear & will be organized the way the were on your old PC

    Note -

Your external drive/drives letters that your libraries are on,
have to remain the same letters they were when you were on your old PC.
Otherwise your libraries will not show in Kontakt..

Also to be safe, make sure the Kontakt install directory & vst directory, is the same as it was on your old PC.
& make sure your PC user name is the same as it was on your old PC as well.

    Do the Backup - regularly..
I do one whenever I fill an external SSD

I know this works as I done it late last year. I was using the CodeFN42 - Kontakt LibOrganizer
and accidently saved the order of my libraries in alphabetical order

So first I created a new system image, then I restored my computer from a week old system image.
I then did the backup steps I put above, & restored my computer from the new system image.
Then I did the restore steps I put above, minus installing Kontakt. And all my libraries were back in the order I organized them.

I could have just restored my computer from the week old system image, & left it at that.
But I created the new system Image, then restored from the week old system image,
backed up reg keys.. & restored back to the new system image, deleted reg keys & the imported backed up reg keys..
as I made a lot of changes to my system within a week.
