Yeah, everything needs improving. But if anyone can be arsed to give me some criticism on mix, whatever, then great. I know it needs more "music", variety, more everything. But no - I am not giving up! Don't even think of suggesting it! :D

 

When the main warpy lead synth enter in, drums (except hat) disappear.

And seeing as no-one else criticised anything I'll have to conclude it's perfect! Result!

 

Some random note I am typing as i listen. Over all sounds good and don't quit now! Keep shaping ..molding ..etc.

First main synth is not balanced with the rest of the track
Kick drum is lost and not driving the track forward (maybe side chain a little? ..don't have to "pump" it but it needs to be more up front)
Drums could use a little more variation
Cool vocal samples


Yeah that main synth really needs to blend a little more. Those drums should be much bigger to me.

Breakdown ... use it! work on the build man ..it's an opportunity to grab the listener so they stay focused on your track.

Oh, yeah. Now you mention it. I don't think there's much if any because I backed-off using it. Because I thought I shouldn't do it much.

Yeah, for sure. You noticed - I trust you. I love drums but I'm really not very good at programming them. I'm about to move somewhere nobody can hear me going "dush dush dush" for ages - hopefully my drums will improve. And I must remember to get them pumping! Wooo!

yeah? Some bhangra sample pack type thingummy and from the film "The Day The Earth Stood Still." It's the one with a robot .....from an interplanetary defence force that prevents war. Hence the nuclear air-raid sirens too. I wanted the sirens to be like the insane riser thing in "The Age of Love - Age of Love (Jam & Spoon's Watch out for Stella mix)". It never got close though.

Previously I've always put lead things things too low. Then it sounds like I am embarrassed to play (I am!) I'm sure I was determined not to do it again.

Ah, that's where it can get to seem like real work. I'm lazy about that stuff and always want to play something new rather than refine and tweak. Again, hopefully the move to somewhere no-one can hear me "repeating shit over and over" will help.
