Hey Guys so I'm guessing R2R is abandoned Arturia stuff V.R is super fast with their updates and from what I heard it's solid.. I wanna clean out all of R2Rs arturia software..and I was wondering if anyone here has done this.. I know I need to be careful because I tried installing over top and things didn't go very well and I got error messages.
If you know the directories I need to clean it would be helpful I just wanna switch over to V.Rs release.

Yeah, Ive had nothing but problems with Arturia lately. All AU's crash Logic upon instigation. Ive tried deleting every possible particle of Arturia from my system but there's still SOMETHING in there somewhere that won't allow a clean install. Any suggestions (for Mac) would be greatly appreciated.

You can’t just say things like that, you have to at least do a meme for it

 

VR has often preset bombs in their arturia releases too .

 

I do like VR because it's an alternative. But if I have to choose between both I would always take R2R. Just look how often VR needs a R2, R3 and even R4 and R2R in contrast does. It's about quality and more or less this way: R2R simply has a few more years of experience and seems to have a beta tester crew working before final release while VR uses us as beta testers.
No offense of course and in a few years VR will be real good. Keep going!

Arturia:
1) After uninstalling and deleting files+folders (use explorers search function) check the registry if there is something left about Arturia especially:
HKCU/Software
HKLM/Software
And do a search over the whole registry with Arturia as search string

2) If that doesn't work perfectly use a software like Revo uninstaller and install Arturia again so that Revo is able to get all info about folders and registry entries and then use Revo to uninstall.

To double check there is nothing left use 1) after 2) again.

These dedicated uninstaller are great and a must whenever you should(for being fast and convenience) use em in connection with dedicated search apps to really find all places sometimes and even then it could be you miss something cause dev used total different names for folders you searched .

 

Uninstall arturia, Keep R2R..

 

cleaner apps like crapcleaner en revo
wil not remove anything like arturia en shit
they delete only you'r temp internet cookies recycle bin etc.

 

Strange... on my Win10, all lastest Arturia by V.R, either instruments & FX, work without any problem, even on connected DAW!

 

Arturia is using HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE only, for all their plugins (part of V Collection 8 or FX Collection 2, IDK about very old plugins however).
They're nothing inside HKEY_CURRENT_USER about Arturia.

I'm using lastest by V.R, without any issue:
- version x.x.x.1552, for 29 instruments (2021.07.09),
- version x.x.x.2694, for 22 FXs (2021.07.07).

I've already repacked - as "internal" - all 29 instruments (separate, VSTi only). Now I'm repacking each FX (also separate, but VST3, 10/22 already made).

For installation (& first run) analysis, I'm using Total Uninstall 6 Pro (v6.27.0) inside a VMware 16 Player virtual machine (running Windows 10 Pro 21H1 x64). I precise I use stock presets/samples only (I mean no soundbank expansion).

That may be perfectly true.
I meant it more like a general "what-to-do-if-uninstall-doesn't-work-well" procedure to clean things by hand if the uninstaller doesn't work.

 

It's never useless to check also into HKEY_CURRENT_USER
I'm totally inside mine Arturia custom installers, all 22 FXs are finished, but I'm reworking deeply all instruments, at the moment 10 of 29 (from Analog Lab V to DX7 V) are fixed due to a stupid bug in my LUA uninstall script (fortunately not critical) lol

 

Just wait for Revision 28 and all will be good... for at least ten minutes.
