    Hi

I have been using a cracked copy of FL Studio but I want to go legit this month and get a license. However after uninstalling my cracked FLS and installing an FLS demo off their, I have found that FL and all the plugins are still registered. I need help with so that I can buy a legit license when I have cleaned my system.

had the same problem with Sound Normalizer when i went legit

those reg keys are still there

tried dr.delete, reg wipe, hive cleaner, and others - none removed them
there is another file/key as a class id (folder icon) that stops the key deletion

wish i knew how to do it, or a program/script that would do that
as i bought the normalizer and can not even use it

thanks for the links kookaboo, i will look into that

this is why you use 2 hard drives, one for *testing and trial versions* , the other for the legit setup :mates:

Windows 'Regedit' or many freeware / payware registry utilities have a search function for locating text strings.

    1. Use search for either the Developer name or product name to carefully find the serial or license key(s) in question.
    2. Then drill down further to look for any license key(s).
3.a) If it was a manually entered serial key provided in a readme.txt, .nfo file that came with the install, then search for that.
3.b) If it was a serial key generated by a keygen, then search for that.
    4. Delete any or all the registry entries associated with the previously installed (cracked) app.

    * NOTE: Common sense to backup registry before these steps and care not to delete other legit registry stuff etc.

    Good luck!

Gosh, that is so simple. Open "regedit" [start-run], navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SOFTWARE and delete the Image Line key branch. Whole. Then navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER-SOFTWARE and do the same. Done. Close regedit. I use regedit to edit lots of things, mostly paths to sample libraries of plugins so they don't reside on C:\something but where I want them to be.

Do it right and do a nuke & pave on the system...really....

And in case you don't know what that means, it means to TOTALLY wipe your drive by zero-filling it, and re-install everything. This is the only way to make sure everything is removed besides loading a new HDD into the system.

Yeah! Nothing could do it better that going into regedit and deleting the folders and subfolders as well as the entry keys manually. You don't use shotguns to kill flies!

Going into HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SOFTWARE and HKEY_CURRENT_USER-SOFTWARE (by purging the folders "software" and "Microsoft") will help remove the application's name (e.g. Florida Studio), and other entries with the application's developer (e.g. Image Line etc). But that's not the end of the whole process. You still have lot's of registry keys spread out in secret unrecognizable folders and sub-entries (and these are the places where the developers place the installation date, serial numbers, OS information etc). Programs like NI Kontakt spread hundreds of entries all over your registry.

Most registry cleaners (if not all) won't find these hidden entries and you'll end up just wasting time (some will even create problems that don't even exist like = "we found 3000 problems in your system" - and with a click of your mouse - voila all fixed- ha ha). These programs are good to keep your registry free from obsolete entries, file extensions, shared dll's problems and temporary files. The best I've seen is Registry Repair Wizard 6.80 (it also defrags your registry), Ccleaner and RegCure 3.02 (the latest versions of RegCure are full of "unneeded" crap) - you can download them from HT33.com. But when it comes to deep in house cleaning, the "do it yourself" method is the best way to go!

If you don't know what you're doing, fooling around with the registry could be fatal to the extend that it might cripple your computer. So, instead of guessing what you should keep or delete, let the system do the work for you. For the unexperienced, the safest way to clean up the registry is by following these five simple steps:

    1) First open the program (run + regedit)
    2) Then on the left upper bar click Edit.
    3) Next, choose "Find." Write the name of the program in question.
    4) After the search is completed, it will highlight on the left pane the folder/subfolder/registry (with subkeys-values and data) that it found. Delete only the folder or subfolder with the name of the program and developer that you have previously deleted from the computer (nothing else!). Sometimes you'll find the folder (text string- entry key, data value etc) on the right side pane (be careful - it might be mixed with entries from other programs).
    5) To repeat this process click "Find Next." The registry will keep taking you to the rest of the folders, subfolders and registry keys. Keep going until it tells you that there are no further entries to delete. You might have to run this procedure a couple times. When using "Find," make the first run by typing e.g. Florida Studio. Then make make another run by typing e.g. Florida Studio 1.0.9.0 - to make sure that the registry finds all the possible entries of the already deleted program. In fact, everytime you delete a program from your computer, you should run regedit for a full clean up!

Last but not least, before doing any changes, make sure to back up your registry in case you need to reinstall it again! Hope this helps! Cheers :)
