I am a ole skool remix artist, with a Nu Skool problem. Adele's Hello is not sung on the 1's. In fact she has up to 20 % swing in her vocalizations at any time. I am trying to do a Chicago Style Stepper Remix of the song (I have the Acapella), but it's hard to match it up with my instrumental track. I am using Ableton Live, and I am quite adept at using it, but her vocals drive me batty ! Anyone one have a suggestion. I've tried chopping up the vocals, I tried slicing it to midi... all a NO GO !

 

Hmm.. i just checked and i think you must be doing something wrong here since the beat is rather steady as far as i can see. Not using Ableton either but are you sure you dont have setting wrong when importing the vocals? Just asking..

Since i asume you have the right bpm ??

Nevermind I checked it's 4/4.

 

IMHO The only right way is to do a lo-fi, lounge or chillout remix. Her voice (in "Hello") cannot be used differently.

 

I figured it out, and it was simple. All is good now. I did NOT use the acapella that I had, I used the original song, then I ran it through Sonar RMX to create my own acapella, after I properly warped it. Now it syncs up to any beat I throw under it.
