The disadvantes could be lower dynamic range, overall crushed sound and distortion (overs/ISP and conversion distortion) - which you can hear in the youtube clip (pun!) you posted.

If your reference track has lower dynamic in the intro and maybe a breakdrown/bridge, the momentary LUFS is even higher in order to compensate.

-14LUFSi is NOT a target. Neither is -6LUFSi. "Make it sound good" is the target.

Edit: That "Glass Animals" track is even -5LUFS during the the chorus and there are some obvious hard-clipping. Noice!

I studied sound engineering at UNI and wrote an extended essay on "Mastering: Psychoacoustics, sonic aesthetics and signal optimisation". That was a good starting point to understand the process in my opinion.

I have a mastering engineer buddy which allows me to use his equipped room with 2 Prism ADA-8XR (for the AD-DA process), Weiss DS1-MK2, Weiss DS1, some Neumann W495, and most importantly a pair of B&W model 801 Série 80 for monitoring (and you can A/B effortlessly with those, they are amazing at revealing what's there or not).
I need to work on a website so I can grow my customer base.

 

I'm not a profesionnal by any means yet since I do not have an equipped room (at least not mine).
All I'm sharing is insights I got from working with people who want the best from what they got.

I dl'ed the opus audio from the vid, needed to lower it by 3.15dB to achieve -1TP and measured it



And by the looks of the waveform, the sum isn't even heavily limited (but that's maybe due to the conversion).

 

so maybe the one on spotify or something is more limited? maybe its the youtube format
