How to Use Nexus 2 XPs in Nexus:

(CLEAN INSTALL METHOD)

1. Uninstall Nexus 2 (Keep Nexus 2 Content folder)

2. Move ‘Nexus 2 Content’ Folder to Backup Drive or to another safe location.

3. Uninstall Nexus 4

4. Clean any leftover files (DON’T DELETE ANY ‘NEXUS 2 CONTENT’ FILES.).

5. Install Nexus 4.

6. Install Factory Rom 3 & 4 Expansions. (Place all content inside your ‘NEXUS library’ folder)

7. Use Set Library exe to Set Location

8. Start Nexus 4 and Play for Confirmation

9. Close DAW.

10. Copy and Paste old N2 content (Except 'Skins' folder and 'Database.db' file) to the new ‘NEXUS library’ folder and merge them. (On WiN skip any exsisting files, as the newer N4 files would be replaced by old N2 files)

11. Load Nexus (If XPs don’t show up immediately, just wait a few seconds )

12. Test sounds, everything should be working properly now.

look can we get the actual install procedure for mac and windows pinned at the start of this?
I am a busy man I just don't have time to sift through 98 pages of 50 comments trying to find information wherever it may be, search is useless

 

Hmm, shall I delete Nexus 3 on Mac Catalina before I install the last Mac 4.5 version? It says that the library isn't installet. I have pointed the library (the old 3 library that I have on my external HD) in the json file as the nfo says. Not working..

 

Ok, but it can't find the library. I have tried with a Symbolic link or changed the path into the json file but nothing works. Something more I have to do?

 

dont know if this is off topic but when I press cmd+w, nexus does a screenshot (called "Nexus-default-librarian.png") of it saves it on my desktop, which is really annoying because I use that shortcut often for other things and it dont work when nexus 4 is focused. found nothing in the manual or anything about it.

While editing the line E:\\NEXUS CONTENT and replace it with your library directory pathway use backslash(\\) and not ( //) while typing. Hope it helps

 

okay so i installed 4.5.13 and it works
but my 150 gb library disappeared so i edited the settings.json library location (to my external hd where i store it).
I also tried making an alias and placing it in /Library/Audio/Presets/reFX/NEXUS library which also didn't work

and i can't get it to show up. I even downloaded some nexus 4 libraries to see if i can get those to show up and its still blank after resetting
what am i doing wrong?

you shouldn't use an alias, if you can just direct the plugin to look at a directory you have placed on an external drive. if anything, you should be using a symbolic link (symlink). an alias is more of a shortcut than a functional redirect.

P. S: The backslash should be two times as shown. Not once as you had typed

 

I'm on MAC so you use another way to write the pathway namely this: /Volumes/ExternalHD/NEXUS library. Have done that but it' still doesn't work. Something isn't working as it should do...
