thanks, i noticed this. when you indeed press edit. and import samples. then this is stored in C: and it gets another extension. (coverted file format) and that is what you then can use. so i think thye have a large sample database where these samples are all stored and then they create presets with them. tried to create own stems presets but to bad it's a big hasel and takes to long. going to use a different vst then for that. searching...

 

Yes. But these are not their own samples, they are made by different people who gave them a license to use in Nexus, not to resell them.
If it were their own sampley they could sell them as they like and make it possible to edit them. Too bad.

Yes, Nexus as a full blown Synth/Sampler is not yet there. Everything is only "almost great". I think in a few years it can be my go to Synth. But not yet.

does anyone of you know how I can get the skins in the (Legit) Nexus

 

You need the latest update v5.1.8. At the top right of the Nexus 5 you will find a button and in the submenus
are the "Interface" --> "Skin Browser"

When I opened the Skin Browser for the second time, I noticed that it no longer works,

 

For me (legit ofc) it doesn't work at all. The Skin browser is greyed out

 

yes, it happened to me too, that's why I asked. I assume that there will be a new update or you have to put the skins you already received that are included in the update into another folder? I've tried everything but nothing works.

 

Put them in a folder yourself? No, that's the manufacturer's responsibility alone, let's wait for a bug-fixed version.
And we're happy that there are new skins.

 

HMPPPFFFFF. That was dumb.
I tried to open the skin browser while in the V5 mode. So it's greyed out.
But if I open the skin browser in the N2 retro UI, it works (63 skins)
Apparently they were downloaded via the ReFX cloud. I pressed "download" in the ReFX cloud app afte the app v1.5.8 was installed.

 

Thanks for the tip @twoheart - I tried it straight away and it actually works.

 

If the skins were downloaded, there is a new subdirectory "N5 Retro" in the N5 library path
..\reFX\NEXUS library\Skins\
with 35 skins in ZIP files.

If the dir isn't there it has not been downloaded yet

Any one know how to alter the range of a sample in the layer?

I'm not on about the range on the left hand side, but the one in the ranges in the wave window.
Multi sample don't map correctly when importing and i have not found a way to change them in either the layer or sample window.

 

I would like to update from NEXUS 4 to NEXUS 5.
If I do that, will the factory library be replaced by the new N5 library or will I keep both?
