    Hey guys.

My budget is like 500-600$. I been thinking about KRK Rockit 5inc but some people don't like them. I need monitors for mixing at home for all genres and don't like boosted high frequencys.

    Thank you for your advices.

Spend as much as you can afford, and then add some more money on top of that even if it means waiting a bit

  6. ...or buy used and let your money go a little further. I did and am very happy that I did. I bought KRK V6 monitors for 371 Swiss Francs for the pair. New they were about 1200. They have been running faultlessly for the last 3 years. They are are probably about a 7/10 in the world in quality as monitors go, but for the price that I paid for them, definitely a 10/10. All the best on your quest. :like:

I would spend money on acoustic treatment before purchasing monitors for mixing.

I upgraded from a set of M-Audio 5" to KRK Rokit 8" with a 10" KRK Sub. I was finding I couldn't get good low end levels set with the 5". But I found a good deal, $500 for the complete set of Rokit's used. I love the KRK's, but I have heard better sounding more pricey monitors.

Don't worry about treating your room yet. Get your monitors first. As long as the room is well furnished it will cut back on the reflections a tid bit.

Go on ebay and get you some used Yamaha HS8s. You can probably find a pair, with cables, stands and pads for around $500-550.

I Only know Aplha from reputation and magazines, but I'm pretty sure the 50s a great choice given the size of your room. If your room is small, bigger speakers will only resonate more in your untreated room, which in turn, will mask what you hear. You'll just have to get used to an unboomy bass, but that's a good thing. Later on down the road, you can add a good pair of headphones to supplement the missing low end. DIY acoustic treatment is always possible once you've saved up some money. You can buy Rockwool panels and build your own frames for a fraction of the cost. When well positioned, you gain a lot with reasonable cost.

Save up and get yourself a pair of
    Neumann KH120A.
They are by far the best stuff around. Even the low end is great! No need for a sub unless you want to go lower than 50 Hz, which does not make much sense in an average sized room, anyway.

Yamaha HS8 here, best speakers I heard for this amount of cash. Enough bass, great mids and highs, and I have a small room too. I've heard the Rokits, not accurate sound.I listened to JBL 308 next to Akai RPM 800 and next to Monkey Banana Gibbon 8, they all sounded better than Rokits, not so muddy. I went to buy Rokits or JBLs and left store with Yamahas, is a pleasure to work with at night with low volume

Check out the JBL LSR305's or LSR308's. They are in your price range and have impressive sound with a huge sweet spot.

I bought the LSR305's and just love them. JBL has been making monitors for many decades and is known for their advanced research. This is the newest model and yes, it does live up to the hype.

As @muciones said. Best money i've ever spent. I have the HS8's

At first the high end would hurt my ears but it taught me to not slack when dealing with frequencies that would cause fatigue. Excellent monitors to reference other mixes on as well :)
