Is it me or is there simply the same lame shit being re-released over and over again? Same versions even. Maybe it's due to the R2R hiatus, or maybe who knows what... But I keep seeing the same dumb junk releasing over and over again along with the "sample packs" ad nauseam...

R2R, AudioUtopia, AIR, where are you! We miss you!

sample packs have always overwhelmed everything else. there's thousands and thousands of them, most of them unusable/same samples being flipped...
but truth be told, groups could stop release stuff and we would all be fine... we have literally everything one could dream for. kudos and respekt to the teams for giving us the opportunity

it's all the same stuff as always, but with the better stuff not there; so you notice more how mediocre the other stuff often is.

once a Team starts releasing something, they continue doing update versions. Some people need them for fixes, and others install them for no reason. Some users will complain if update versions are skipped. Some releasers do not mind releasing the same thing 10 times, because they already have it done, and the developer does not change anything to prevent them. Therefore, they get multiple downloads (read:clicks) for little additional work. Developers continue to put out meaningless updates so they can point to how much work they do to justify the prices for such "support" (think: Acustica). And some developers do the same thing, with the additional benefit of locking you out of newest content by requiring only the latest and greatest version of their product (think: Kontakt).

Moria is doing a PA release per day lately, which is probably a result of their decision to drop Arxan, caused by R2R. Ironic how things like that work out. First new version of Logic in about 10 years lands this week and of course it is going to be smoking on the newest Apple Silicon processors.

It's all cyclical. Stick around and it will seem to change.
