Hello - does anyone know how to make the main crunchy/dirty synth sound that plays throughout the track on soft synth plugins such as Serum (or even presets on existing hard synth emulations) ?

    If you own serum.

    1) Factory Preset - Synth - SY Analog Brass (SD)
    2) go FX Section - turn off Reverb and Delay
    3) go To Envelope 1 (estimation, you need to listen and adjust)
    - Attack around 300ms
    - Hold around 250 ms
    - Decay 0.1ms
    - Release 800-900ms
    4) turn on Sub osc, add -1 octave sine wave, blend (level) it a little as bass foundation sound.
    5) go to FX section add Distortion, pick Asym or Tube (whichever you like) and crank it until it sound crunchy, blend it with the Mix knob.

It should get you on the ballpark and you may start to adjust everything to taste from there.

use LFOTool to create the gated/side-chain effect after.
