For just browsing, Opera has a built-in proxy feature to hide the IP, and ProtonVPN free is very decent.

You can use, say, showmyip to check what your IP looks like from the outside.

i want to use the VPN to hide my IP from a forum where i was banned for telling a guy that he was a fanboy,im talkimg about the Fractal forum, they blocked my ip,but i need to be a member of that forum because sometimes i need to download free presets or some updates

i was using Windscribe to register a new account but they found out and blocked my new account

that is why i was asking for a good free VPN to open and account again in that forum.

Well, try those. But admins take dim view of people trying to circumvent their blocks normally.

Maybe create 2 accounts, using 2 different IPs (Opera lets you switch between a few), then use the other just to fetch presets/updates, and the other for actually posting, just in case?

TOR browser is no longer used for these purposes? obviously, it can be slow.

You can always get out the Yagi. But that's a different discussion. :)

Opera has one of the fastest built in VPN's. Sometimes I get download speeds up to 30-40 MB/s.
It's surely not the most secure one but it's perfect to browse on sites that are banned in your region
(in my case Zippyshare is one of them) or to hide your real IP in forums quickly - you can turn it on and
    off in seconds if needed.

  15. The OP mentioned a very limited purpose for which he wants to use a VPN, and so I suppose a free one might be okay for such limited usage. But in general I would avoid using 'free' VPN services. They're going to sell data related to you and what you're doing on the VPN, and because of that what was supposed to be private will not be very private at all. These 'free' services have to be making money some way, and your data is how they wind up doing it.

Do some research.. if you buy a VPN service during the right time of year when they run sales you can find a safe and reliable one for dirt cheap. I've been using one called Surfshark for a few years now. I believe them to be trustworthy and on all of my subscriptions with them have always paid under $3 USD a month which seems reasonable to me. JMO, but you're better off spending a couple of bucks for the peace of mind then playing around with so-called 'free' VPN services.

No VPN blocks Youtube Ads, because that would mean they monitor your traffic like IP's do. But there a good browser extensions for that im using ADBlock for Youtube. By the Way NordVPN got CyberSec but thats more for malware ads and stuff like that.

If you are a Firefox user try the add ons HOXX VPN and Setup VPN. These are pretty similar and maybe from the same company. Both are daily limited but fast, lots of countries included. No DNS leak found... I installed both - if the daily limit is reached I simply switch to the other one.

Free forever, no DNS leaks, and no Bandwidth Limits!!!

They also have Free Outline VPN (Shadowsocks) Account (Outline VPN is a free and open-source VPN software created by Google. It uses Shadowsocks protocol and has a faster speed than OpenVPN. Outline VPN client tool supports all major platforms including Android, Windows, Chrome OS, iOS, macOS, and Linux.)
