So to sum this thread up...

Mac users are frustrated because Cashmere was one of the very rare Mac crackers who could actually deliver some new stuff, but was bullied away.

And Windows users don't own a Mac at all, but are still in a Mac thread just to bully around some more out of frustration, because, well, they are Windows users and don't make music anyway, otherwise they would be too busy doing that to even care about what happens in a Mac thread.

Dirty secret is that all of us are only waiting for keygen music, nobody cares about new software or operating systems... but no one will admit.

Yes, for sure it's a matter of taste!

I've worked for more than 20 years with Windows. I began with MS-DOS, and before with C-64, Atari ST and Amiga. I've had Windows 3.1, 3.11 Server Edition, Windows 95, 98, Millenium Edition, XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10. I worked and I'm working with both OS.
With Windows I've had many times data loss because of the file system (NTFS), because of viruses, constant annoying updates, crashes...
Just to mention one of the many advantages: fragmentation. The macOS filesystem doesn't fragment. HPFS and APFS have a better structure and better read/write system. The registry in Windows is a complete mess and really the weak part of the system. When an app crashes in Windows, the whole system slows down or even freezes. Even with Windows 10, the multi tasking has still its flaws... This is not the fact with macOS. When an application or process crashes, it doesn't freeze the system. The RAM in macOS is used a lot better as it has a very smart compression algorithm behind. Windows 7 and upwards has Microsoft spyware integrated in the system. Macintosh OS needs 8 GBytes of disk space, meanwhile Windows more than 20 GBytes... In a certain way macOS is a lot less paranoid with message boxes and advices than Windows. It's somehow more "silent" and more user oriented than machine oriented. Plug and play works a lot better, audio latency is minor...

What I like more of Windows is that it is more "open source". Working with 3d stuff like Cinema 4D, playing video games is a lot better on Windows than on macOS.

Aha. Sorry I'm no geek. I won't list you the technical advantages of Windows.
Not the point of this thread, wouldn't want to be OT or list things no one cares about.
Most people choose their OS based on feelings, usability, appearance. It's fair. The market says Windows won. Sorry.

My father loves Mac though. So....Good for Mac.

Actually I've read it's not the case anymore. Also probably the price that had to be paid from being successfull. But again, wouldn't want to speculate on things I don't know, say clichés things with absolutely no data to back it. Right ? I mean that would be the opposed to an enlighten, open minded state of mind.
I only know I never had a virus myself. Probably dumb luck.:dunno:

Well, there I have to disagree. The rules are pretty clear and the moderation seems pretty fair. : Like:
And you are smart .. and say you know this and that..
and I know you know many things, and I pay attention to what you say.... : Invision:
So I would guess it is likely more a thingy about temperment than complexity. : Winker:

I see forums as good places to watch certain forms of social hierarchy maneuvering.
I am pushing my way into the lower left side but it is crowded with comedians and almost no room for us clowns.
I thrive in threads like this though where everyone is fighting and I can DOMINATE my realm. :metal:

The most important thing in fact is, that you feel comfortable with the system and that it helps you with your projects and works. Is it Windows, Linux, Android, iOS, ... or macOS. As I've said, I use both for different purposes.

Classic virus is somehow out, and antivirus work only for well known and already discovered viruses (small precent), new kind of malware is totally stealth, so if your AV didn't show alert means nothing.
For me it's useless but not for profit of AV companies. Even with advanced machine learn methods.
Today bitcoin miners, ads services, rootkits, bots and zombies are more attractive. (here open source os won forever - bsd or linux). Unfortunately we must wait.

In conclusion, separate your daw/game machine from main/work computer and keep it offline. Good for your security and good for patches.

See, that's amazing. You, me. Different side of the fence, and yet we agree.
It's indeed a matter of taste.
It's those moments of grace that give tears. Awesome.

    Must be a tough one.

In Italian we say: "il mondo è bello perché è vario". The world is beautiful, because it is varied!

I agree. And I'm happy to have another Italian friend onboard the AS boat. Us mediterranean dudes get along well.
I actually also have a Mac as I believe in what you said regarding diversity. I don't use it for audio, but still. I use it.
    Confession time.

The best antivirus software that I know and for me the only one which really works and finds viruses without false alarms is malwarebytes.

Man that's another point we have in common. Malwarebytes. Very efficient indeed. Nice on CPU. Very cool soft.

Ditto. They both equally suck out your soul on a daily basis.
