    Hello
Maybe this is absolutely outdated...sorry for that :) but yesterday I installed Reason 5 in an old computer with Cubase 5 and I wasn't able to sync them..seems that Reason starts earlier than Cubase. Any clue?
    Thanks in advance

whitch one is running "master" and whithc on is the "slave" ?

are you using reason as a "instrument" playing into cubase and then recording.

    need more info

    Thanks!

I opened an old project and the sync is lost. Cubase is the master and Reason slave.
But I tried a new project and also this way sync doesn't work between the 2 progs
I did a research in google and found that was a common problem years ago..but maybe someone know how to solve it..

    Sounds like you've used ReWire.
    Try Midi Clock sync.

I never have problem with rewire, this is the goal, have two soft in "perfect" sync, this is very strange :wtf: maybe try with reaper master and reason slave this problem is come maybe from cubase.
Hmm the problem was known years ago and steinberg and/or propellerehad was do nothing to solve it, bad thing!

wait, are you starting them at the same time? maybe im misunderstanding?
i cant remember which order to start them in but i think you need to open cubase first and let it load (maybe start a project too?), then open reason and load the rack unit that gives you your I/Os (cant remember what that is called).

    is that what you did?

I do it that way, first start Cubase and after that,reason..
But I found a solution, isn't really comfortable but works..
Instead starting the song in 1st measure I put a marker and start it in Measure 2...and that's all, everything is running in synchro :) the "homeless" solution lol
Thanks to all of of you!

First, you need a set of virtual MIDI port/matrix (google for how to do it on your operating system), then send MIDI clock sync from Cubase to it. Set Reason to slave to MIDI clock and let it read from the same virtual MIDI port. If Cubase sends and Reason receives MIDI status and song position pointer messages, Reason will always start and stop in-sync at the correct position.
