Found out about this little gem on the Reaper forums yesterday.

    https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=255085

A guy who seems to have made some free Kontakt libraries has also made a full drum kit for Reaper, using ReaSamplomatic5000 and some ReaPack scripts. It's mapped the same way SD3 is, so Toontrack MIDI beats works almost perfectly with it (some beats from, add-on libraries, might need a few changes to work perfectly). It's also made with e-drummers in mind, so it shouldn't be difficult to set-up for playing through.

The quality of the samples are very high! It sounds like it could be a drum kit taken straight from a superior library, tbh. The drumkit has a very vintage rock/John Bonham vibe, so it might not be the best for modern rock or metal, but I'm glad that it is more vintage inspired as there is so many metal drum libraries out there already.

He has included both a demo project, project template and MIDI keymap etc. so it's just to follow the instructions for installation. However, I re-routed the sends a bit to suite my workflow better and then saved it as my own template instead.

Here is a direct download link, if you are not interested in reading the forum post.

I must add that this Tchackpoum guys website is well worth a visit :) He has more drum libraries for free - both for Kontakt, Ableton, Sitala, DrumGizmo and another one for Reaper (ReaperDrummer Signia).

Check it out (and maybe send him a dollar or two, if you like his work :winker:): http://tchackpoum.fr/
