A Stereo Width plugin is used to narrow or widen the frequency of the side channel. Some also have a Mono frequency control.
The Reaper track width control goes from Mono (center) to normal Stereo (default +100%) -100% will flip left/right assignment.

the LOSER StereoEnhancer can control the width of 2 bands separately, useful for keeping the bass more mono.

i'm trying to still understand how do you widen something that's already 100% left or 100% right or on the sides

so Mid-Side...you're talking about the SIDE information? The difference between Left and Right.....

is it like placing a chorus for example on a 100% left sound? Thats like making it extra wide more than 100%?

If sth is already 100% left, you can make it mathematically wider by adding in antiphase of L into R.

You can also make it psyco acoustically wider by adding in a delay to antiL in R, this is what some plugs do.

Try it in your DAWs & FX to see what they do.
