I create a sub folder with it's own channel. then send everything into that channel with the effect you want., then the output goes to the master.. Everything you don't want to send to that effect merely goes to the master channel.

Sorry that's Reaper you're using? I use Ableton so I don't know if that rule still applies. I hope it does!

Routing icon - Uncheck 'Send to parent' + Add audio hardware output (1+2 usually is your monitors).

But then the Master channel (fader and FX) isn't working anymore for this track! Just to avoid sending a track to an effect, this is a very uncommon 'solution'.

I'd rather use @Sylenth.Will.Fall's option and create a separate track (not folder) with the delay inserted and use sends for the individual tracks. This is way more common, TBH, it's THE common/standard solution.

I was merely answering the question as directly as possible. Sends are definitely the way to go. Or if you want to keep the folder fx: bypass by sending it to a buss track.

Of course it is. Thank you for the correction.. Doing it is easy, explaining it sometimes not so much!

I maybe should've added, if it's not send to the Master it won't be rendered! So, that's not an option at all. :winker:

In Reaper, every track can have multiple channels, not just 1 or 2 for mono or stereo. So, you could use more than 2 channels on the folder track. For example 1-2 for general tracks that go through the fx plugins, and 3-4 that bypass them. You could even have different plugins that only affect channels 3-4. Be sure to mix down 1-2 and 3-4 afterwards.
