Compatible plugins have not arrived!

 

Last update v5.90 is mind-blowing! Celemony already listed REAPER as one of the first developers to implement ARA2 support

 

i thought Melodyne is an ARA plugin.. am i wrong?

 

Theirs no doubt in my mind Reaper is kicking ass!!!

If I've understood well Reaper begins to support ARA directly with ARA v2. Which I guess is backwards-compatible with ARA v1 plugins like, random example :P , Melodyne.

 

well, 5.91 prerelease is very likely too become 6.0 public release anyway,
just guessing here but keep in mind previous public release was 5.80 despite there were plenty 5.81 prerelease builds at lando,
imo it's not that "important" because ARA2 plugins are not available for public yet (and no, ARA and ARA2 is not same thing to be forwards compatible)

 

I do not mean to sound dumb but from what I read ara melodyne is supported in Reaper
v5.95pre9 now if this is true how do you use it? I have googled with no luck.

 

The only Meledyne that works with reaper betas is the beta of the new ARA2 version. The original ARA was never included in reaper so we all have to wait for celemony to pull their finger out and release ARA2 version of melodyne.

 

pre builds are not to be officially discussed (hence why you found no info I guess)
there is ARA2 implementation "ready" in Reaper lando builds but requires the yet-nonpublic version of Melodyne which is built on ARA2 as well

 

That's a very important information. I thought ARA2 would be backwards compatible.

 

A lot of new features, improvements, fixes and ARA stuff still not implemented in the latest stable versions, because they are all testing in pre versions, rc cancels them again and stable one is after rcs. Then again. Many stuff unreleased since 5.7x, mostly it is ara, timestretch, midi, etc. Nothing there is (r)evolutionary for v6...

 

This article makes me feel good as a Reaper user.
It makes one only imagine how deeply that goes, b/c Reaper devs have been working on aspects of ARA integration for a while now. I hope it goes deeper than what Presonus is already doing.

I'm so excited about v6.

ARA allows an advance integration of melodyne in the daw it's implemented, for better interaction between melodyne and the concerned daw. For instance when you navigate in Melodyne time line will playing audio it will follow in your daw (not the case without ara, so to brwose the time line you have to go to your daw rather then do it in melodyne even if you're working inside melodyne), or the vocals will be instantly transfered to melodyne as soon as you insert it, no need to manually transfer audio.
For seeing it in action you can either try with studio one or samplitude....Others probably do it too.

Guys, if ARA2 is in 5.96 and all these not-so-tiny recent updates in 5.9x releases - what will be in REAPER 6.0 ?????
