Use midi all the time, seems to work just fine for me.

If you have a specific issue it is probably well documented,
worked around, or thoroughly noted and complained about in their daw forum,
a great resource, helpful, chock full of info,
and other goodies to make your reaper experience smoother..
    :guitarhero:

no I don't work for Cockos... though some people might think I'm a ... nevermind

reaper licenses are good for two complete version upgrade cycles. if you bought version four, the license is good until they come out with version six.

Now, almost all DAWs are fine.
    Pros:
    - Simple to use. More simple to achieve what you make with other DAWs.
    - VST3 now supports.
    - Simple editing of samples and even the whole project.
    - There is Project Bay that may help you with work.
    - Fast, stable, almost no crashes.
    - Stable internal bridge for plug-ins.
    - EXTENSIONS for REAPER! Like SWS/S&M Extension, which is updated often too
    - Scripts supports with a lot of programming languages to make what you want, so you can program your own processing, routing and blah-blah-blah endless sh1t, it is only limited by your imagination and your PC possibilities, but I think it doesn't eat too much resources (can you do it with your S1 or other popular super-pro studio DAWs that cost 100000000000000dollars?).
    - Extremely Cheap (60 bucks for small business, 220 bucks for commercial professional studio production, if you don't buy it and don't use crack - you can endlessly use it with full functionality and without any restrictions, just wait for "Buy It" for 5-7 seconds and click "Still Evaluating", popup window will disappear and use it as you want! No more DAWs offer this).
    - A lot of preferences to adjust you DAW.
    - Using UI parameters instead of GUI ones (I use it if my old plugins like FLUX crash after using GUI knobs and faders - I use UI parameters and no problems).
    - Unlimited using VST plugins on one channel.
    - Adjustable REAPER's GUI/Theme, you can download from their site or other resources, or to create or own one, or remake another one - adjust your GUI as you want.
    - Customizable toolbars.
    - REAPER 5 size is 10 MB only. No shit contents with tons of useless samples, multiGB romplers etc.
    - Always large updates (even once a week or month, fixed and improved all over the whole DAW, but even REAPER 4.0 will be properly working).
    - Video supports to work with.
    - Notation Editor should appear soon (in process).
    - Further stability/performance will be improving over and over.
    - Built-in hi-quality JS and ReaPlug-ins! There's a lot 'f them.
    - Built-in Sample-Rate Converter/Resampling is getting better and better since 5.01.
    - A lot of formats/codecs to render + some rare formats and settings like 1bit or smth like that etc.
    - 192 kHz / 64 bit float. Multichannel, ambisonic support.
    - DDP support.
    - Billion of other useful stuff you and me don't even know.

    Cons:
    - Only REAPER is one that can do a lot, but your expensive overrated DAWs with most beautiful GUI can't do a half.

Just youtube to help you. And a lot of advanced tutorials about REAPER.
Just know: it is getting better and better all the time. Even old REAPER 4.00 is excellent to compare with other DAWs. But here is REAPER5 which is more competitive....

What about internal bridge? Has Reaper a 32 bit internal bridge for 32 bit plugins?

Some daws can play audio clip bpm and host synced when previewing audio file. Can Reaper do that?

There are only a handful of D.A.W.s that i have tried and don't like.
    Reaper is one of them.
It's not bad i just had a hard time with the vsti's for some reason and i'm not sure if they fixed it but not being able to let my MPC be the master controller annoys me.

    Peace

    Ohh..forgot...there is Internal bridge))
"Some daws can play audio clip bpm and host synced when previewing audio file." don't understand this...you can use this file with any bpm, stretch it with built-in elastique pro3 or not. If you don't like the kick you used in whole project, you can replaced them with 1-2 clicks, just browse all your kicks in Project Bay and choose what you like, it replaces old to new one...
There is a lot of features to adjust how do you want import your file, stretch or not or....
    As well as - scripts..

Studio One and Ableton have it. Basicly while your track is playing you can preview audio content synced with the daw and automatcly streched. It's really handy also for one shot sample.

    Hey Cat,

I´m really sorry for that stupid & off topic joke, would`ve never thought somebody goes down that alley, seriously.
Your posts are always a pleasure to look at and I take them as my yardstick how proper posting is done.
It`s going to be a long and ugly shade if you give up on doing news posts, because of some bollocks comments happened in Reaper topics ...
    my first DAW of choice.
Please accept my apology, I won`t chime in again if I can`t catch up with the vibe.
