For those who have the CORE keygen from 4.01. You only need to download the 4.02 version and install.

Next run the keygen, make a new key file, patch the Reaper.exe file and launch. You should not have to import the key file but, do so if asked.

    Happy tracking...

Or just download Reaper 4.02 and install it. There is no copy protection, no anti-piracy code in it. There is just a reminder that pops up after you have used it for 30 days and makes you wait for a massive 5 seconds. Then buy a license and enjoy one of the best daws around :)

I really dont understand why anyone would want to use a keygen for reaper. You download the full version , it effectively never times out and you can update it with every new version. So what do you get with a keygen, just getting your name on something you haven't bought?

    1. You get fast acces to the program when you are trying to fly an idea with the least amount of distraction.
    2. You don't get random & weird rendering and rewire issues.
    3. You don't get the random connecting to the net and locking out the program (has happened)

Reaper is getting close to the point where most will gladly buy the license. They need to work on a few issues like better native MIDI editing without the need for limited scripts.

    Note:
They have fixed many of the VST issues that caused random crashing..

Has nothing to do with being right, wrong or, righteous... It is, what it is...

I'm all for evalution of programs with the expectation of a purchase for worthy software. The problem comes when you lay down your cash for a product and are told to wait for the next release.

My work around is to follow a notable candidate in hopes that it will be a purchase supported and not abandoned like Logic Audio Pro for PC. Apple thought everyone would just part with hard earned dollars when they took control of Logic Audio. Some did, some did not.

If I had an updated version of Logic for PC I would probably not use anything else...

I appreciated your passion and do not take it as a slight even if meant so.. It is, what it is...

Just because something is expensive does not mean it is good..

Reaper as a VST host and DAW has plenty to offer in regards to work flow.

I've used just about everything out there from free to empty your pockets expensive. Logic Audio for PC was excellent.
Cubase and Nuendo are so,so. Pro Tools??

Have you heard some of the completed projects done in Reaper...?

Simply beacuse it is one of the best daw:s and yes it´s cheap but way better then most daw:s. I guess you haven´t tried it or you simply don´t understand it.
The routing is way better than most daw:s and the included plugins is as good as other daw:s.
The only thing i really miss in reaper is a dedicated audio editor
And it is a fact that many mixing pros have started to use reaper as their go to daw when they mix.Ask yourself why?
So take a look at it before you start to argue and discover what reaper can do
But since you are a dance guy with no potencial for recording audio i guess it isn´t for you.
There are other mucisian who visit this forum not just data nerd dance producers.
And hey it CAN do MIDI too

There are lots of reasons to use reaper! Some of them are:

    1. Best performance in town. There is simply no other daw that comes even close in this point...
    2. Plugin compatibility. There are so many compatibility-options. If you can't get it running in reaper it won't run anywhere. (Including fantastic inbuilt 32/64-Bit bridging!)
    3. Customization. The only daw on the market that works like YOU want and not vice versa.
    4. Routing and Automation: Most complex routing options of all daws. Together with so many automation and modulation options you can f.e. make every eq-plugin make a dynamic eq, just with a few clicks...

Excuse my bad english! And no, I am not related to cockos... just a really satisfied user (coming from PT and Nuendo, worked with lots of other Daws)

Let me guess, you have tons of warez on your harddisk, worth thousands of $ but haven't had time to check them? Downloading because you know the price.

I bought reaper and I get more out of it than pricy software because it's just simple to use.

I'm purchasing Reaper 4 soon. it's really an awesome DAW.

Btw guys, i have a question. How to enable multitimbral instrument like Kontakt in Reaper 4? When i launch Kontakt, i can only use one instrument at a time unlike in Logic, we can make a multitimbral instrument and have few instruments with one plugin of Kontakt. Look and read the reaper manual but nothing on multitimbral setup. Do you guys know how to go about this?

Reaper should automatically give the option of assigning multiple outs when the plug-in is first added.
If it is already added to a project, open the plug-in (FX) manager and right-click(Windows) the plug-in you want to modify and select 'Build multichannel routing for output of selected FX... You can also select this from the Option menu located at the top left in the same window.
