I have just found out that Realtek actually developed their own ASIO driver in 2007. For me it is allowing me lower latency than asio4all everywhere except in cubase 5.1.2 where for some reason recording works flawlessly but playback has crackling no matter what buffer I setup. I can get <1ms latency @96kHz on my onboard sound!

It also has a little config utility to setup buffer size. I recommend running config utility with admin rights. After that you will be able to run config from DAWs and apps but again to make changes permanent you will have to either restart your app or perhaps start it with admin rights.

It's a shame I can't find update version, maybe Realtek gave up on it, but to me it looks like they could blow all other drivers out of water if they wanted to.

ASIO is nice if you have a single audio card and need to monitor the mix on 2 channels (left/right per channel)
however, if streaming as in SAM Broadcaster/Party DJ or VDJ-
when using the MIC, you must disable the usb mic in audio mixer, then enable monitor out in the daw, or u get echo

i will keep my eyes out for an update for the community

    Realtek !!! :wow:

    ...oh c'mon people...!
You can't be serious with this...

AudioSex is High Fidelity..., with real sound card. *yes*

Realtek is like using a condom... *no*
Does the job, but it doesn't feel right.

when im traveling im using only my notebook and this has sadly a realtek onboard audio card. i have no need for getting another external audio card.
thats why ill try out that asio driver. (ive got another comp with a really better soundcard which has asio drivers included - this only as note)
so stop this please. there are beginners who wont buy a new High Tech Soundcard to get started and this could be pretty helpful.
well i still think ASIO4All is the best - but ill give it a chance.
