I apologize in advance if I'm wrong, but from your question it seems that you are wondering if The Prodigy used the samples heard on The Fat of The Land album illegally.

As most musicians here and elsewhere will tell you: No. Record companies have entire departments to look after this kind of stuff. Once samples are chosen, these departments get to work and get permissions from the copyright holders of the songs the samples came from and, as a general rule, no record company will release a record containing samples without assuring that the samples on it have been legally cleared.

I am also surprised that you never heard of Firestarter Horsemen. They played the video nonstop on television and it was a big hit. And concerning the DAW used...people recreate a song in the application that they use? If I was going to do a remake I certainly wouldn't be searching for the original program used in its production. That would be silly. *yes*

 

The most funiest thing to me is:

- bunch of samples from african jazz, a little bit of nirvana and some 80's rapers and make a hit like these

Prodigy was a big electro production these days, but I always thing that those lines are played with synths etc... In these examples, only thing was played is one small synth line

There is a lot videos on youtube (who sampled what ?)... interesting, just can't believe.

Practicaly every summer hit since 1990 was sampled from something, there is a small number of songs (in style of dance, electro) really played by the instruments.

And copyright criminals video is amazing...

Drum patterns of James Brown drummer was most used sample, overused
