Rapper "Dave East" says writing your raps is cheating and if you can't freestyle you shouldn't rap.

Hello @recycle, you described it well, I like your view of things.

However, I do not think that we will develop further artistically. Rather, I believe that the internet contributed to spreading every image and every idea around the world. This abundance does not lead to more art, but to less good art. Sure, if you have to earn money, everything is copied. The competition, especially through YouTube, is so great that the real good ideas can no longer prevail. Also called information overkill.

The great idea of the Internet, or WorldWideWeb, is an understanding of the peoples and knowledge and prosperity for everyone. The world has also gotten smaller. However, the world has also become fuller, with people and streets and even more cars. I think we all have realized that we are the biggest predator on this planet. We will not save art, many musicians are of the opinion that with even the best lyrics and music they will not make the world a better place.

Lots of young people want to be noticed and that's why they shoot videos and make music. Sometimes just self-portrayal without a message. Since everyone can upload something, regardless of the quality, we have a lot of junk. In 20 years we will sort out the best from the 2000 years in so-called Top 100 songs.

    Addendum:
How do you want to motivate artists to create something when they sell too few products because the competition is too big? I made a serum soundbank when the serum came out, it was free, 80,000 downloads, today when so many artists have made serum soundbanks, I might get 100 to 500. It's not worth the time invested.

If you want to make a living as an artist, you have to work faster and faster - get better and better - you have to fight for every job. Ultimately, you don't go broke because you have a bad product, but because the competition is taking your customers away from you. You'd rather go to work - do something else - to pay for your apartment and food.

These are my favourite type of guys to record.
you record 3 takes to comp between and they’re all different lyrics. Or you try to do overdubs and it sounds like a schizophrenic rapper…
    -_-

write it down, refine it, practice it, then come and lay it down on “tape”.

I would counter with the argument that this only applies to the so-called first world industrial nations, where a hip hop culture was already established 40 years ago. But there are countries where hip hop is still in its baby shoes, where hip hop is still very underground and the culture is still very raw.
OK, but then my question would be: what is creativity? I would say it's more diverse and creative than ever before. We have influences from everything today - from Georgian ethno music to Acid to Eurodance. Some very interesting subgenres or new genres were formed.
To say that lyricism changes nothing and everything has already been said and therefore nothing new can actually be brought to the table that will turn the world in a different direction is correct. But this has been the case with philosiphic foundations for at least 2500 years, at the latest since Aristotle. And the motif of storytelling has not been fundamentally developed since Goethe at the latest. Ok, the perspective of the ego, developed a little later, had additional influence, but that was it. I am still happy about every point of view, about every approach, about every interesting chord progression, about everything that triggers my heart, my soul and my mind. I gratefully accept anything that makes me reflect on my being, a thing or a subject, or something that simply makes me smile or laugh.

False. Check out Def Jux and Rhymesayers, lots of incredibly talented and creative artists in them.

Defjux sounds about right, there is definitely an underground vibe in it. I saw their discography ends in 2010: are they out of business?
Rhymesayers has some cool artists too
It is a pleasure to listen to hiphop without being insulted in the heart
    Thanks @triggerflipper

Yeah Def Jux folded in 2010. The label's founder, El-P, goes on making cool music with Run the Jewels.

You know how many people are over the age of 50 and alive today and don't even know how to work a fucking mouse? Yet these same people make fairly good salaries via some bs white collar job they keep because of the agism tradition.

How can wealth be built when we have a whole generation basically refusing to learn and understand one of the most important inventions of of the modern world?

How can you help your kids prepare for this world without understanding computers and breaking edge tech?

Schools will only teach you so much and people even when granted a education still refuse to learn it.

How can you do anything in 2021 without understanding computers and breaking edge tech?

The money isn't flowing because we have more than half of our population basically brain dead. It's not just older citizens either.

    That is the REAL ISSUE.

I'm gonna be 62 and know how to work a fucking mouse. Most rodents are nocturnal so you can only get the best results from them after sundown. You need to give them plenty of fresh water and only good fresh food, not that crap dried out and cooked to death shite from the supermarket, and you let them eat when and where they want. You follow these few simple rules and you'll get at least a couple of good years outta them.

This condescending attitude can be directed against a single person or against other people in general.

    Examples of pejorative behavior:
    - speak badly about others (in the presence or absence of the person concerned),
    - mock someone, make a fool of someone,
    - expose / expose a person (publicly) as ignorant, incapable, incompetent, ....

    The reasons are ALWAYS ...
The reasons for this conscious devaluation of fellow human beings can be varied and also situation-dependent.
But they are ALWAYS due to the personality image of the "put-down".
Because the following listed possible reasons for being put down (feeling of inferiority, lack of self-confidence, ...) can apply to many people - but that does not mean that they make their fellow human beings bad because of it.

The devaluation as a psychological defense mechanism belongs to the primitive defense mechanisms and forms the opposite pole to idealization. As a protective mechanism, devaluation is used to stabilize self-esteem and serves to ward off feelings of envy or fear of loss and dependency.
